KATERI CHURCH IS AT NOON EVERY SUNDAY! CATHOLIC RADIO Lightning strikes tower of WJVM 90.3-FM! On Sunday, July 15th, lightning damaged our internet provider s equipment and WJVM s transmitter. As of July 23 rd, we are still unable to broadcast. Although the internet service has been restored, our transmitter is in the shop. We are hopeful that the unit can be repaired rather than replaced. We are grateful for the prayers and support of our regular listeners at this time. You may still listen live via the link at In addition, those in the State College area may tune into WEJO-104.7FM. WASHINGTON DC TRIP: (TENTATIVE) Monday, August 20th (FOR ALL FAMILIES) - Leaving from St. John's in Bellefonte around 7AM. We will take a charter bus to Washington DC to visit the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception right next to CUA Campus. We will have Mass at one of the chapels inside the Basilica and have time to walk around and visit the bookstore. Then we will go to Arlington National Cemetery to honor our Veterans followed by a visit to the Natural History Museum. Admission for this trip will only be $35 per person. We only have about 50 seats available. Please bring money for the bookstore and for food as we will stop at Golden Corral on the way back. Call the rectory office if you are interested in this trip. They are in need of school supplies, toiletries and small toys. There will be a collection bin in the back of the church. We are working with a group called Hands and Hearts Ministry from Gallitzin, PA. We will be accepting donations until the end of August. 4 School Phone: School JJ POWELL CHURCH PROGRAM We would like to thank the church and all parishioners that participate in the JJ Powell Church Program, which donates monies to our school based on gallons delivered to a business or home. Parishioners who wish to participate in this program can call JJ Powell at at any time throughout the year to register in the Church Program. Every gallon helps with the donation JJ Powell makes to our school. ST. JOHN SCHOOL REGISTRATION FOR Minimal openings remain in our Pre-K through 5th grade classes. 5 PIXIE DUST WISHES EVENT Pixie Dust Wishes is a 501c3 company that makes Disney wishes come true for children with disabilities. This non-profit organization will hold their event called Race to Neverland for the second year this August. This second annual 5K Run, "mile" Fun Walk, and Family Festival event will be held at Tudek Park in State College on Saturday, August 11th at 8:00 AM. Pre-registration by 11:59 PM EST on Monday, July 23rd, guarantees a T-shirt on race day. Registration and check in will begin at 7:30 AM and will last until 8:00 AM. The 5K Race will begin at 8:15 AM. The Fun Walk registration and check in will occur up to 9:15 AM with the walk begins at 10:00 AM. MARRIAGE PREPARATION CLASSES Are you a recently engaged couple planning your wedding? The Diocesan Family Life Office has all the information about sacramental marriage preparation. You can reach them for information at or online at familylife@dioceseaj,.org. There are two Marriage Preparation Classes available yet this year. One will be held on September 12,19, & 26 at St. Francis of Assisi Activity Center at 134 Barron Avenue in Johnstown. The other will be held on October 16, 23 & 30 at St. John the Evangelist School Auditorium here in Bellefonte. Both sessions are held on Wednesday evenings from 7:00 9:30 PM. Preregistration is required and early registration is advised as some series fill up months in advance. The cost of $70 per couple includes all the sessions in a series. The fee can be paid at the first session made payable to Family Life Office. CROPWALK Although it is the end of July, it is time to start thinking and making plans for the 2018 CROPWALK. The final money disbursement information from the 2017 CROPWALK has just been provided. The total amount of monies raised was $15,000 and $3, came back to our area to help feed those in need.
