MINISTRY TO THE SICK If you or a family member are sick, hospitalized or homebound and wish to receive Holy Communion, contact the parish office. Those who are seriously ill or anticipating surgery should make arrangements to receive the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick as soon as possible. 2 The Notes Position Open! and St. Agnes parishes are looking to hire a qualified finance coordinator. This position maintains all business records for the Parish, St. Agnes Parish and Catholic School, handles accounts payable and receivable, bills and tracks tuition payments, runs payroll and more. If you are interested or know someone interested in these positions, please contact Fr. Parrott right away! St. Charles Borromeo Parish will be hosting a teaching and exposition of Sacred Relics of the Church on Monday, June 4, at 6:30 pm. Father Carlos Martins of the Companions of the Cross will be here with his very special ministry to teach about these holy objects. Among the treasures will be relics of St. Maria Goretti, St. Therese of Lisieux (the Little Flower"), St. Francis of Assisi, St. Anthony of Padua, St. Thomas Aquinas, and St. Faustina Kowalska. In addition, there will also be present a portion of the veil of Our Lady, as well as one of the largest remaining pieces of the True Cross in the world. Faith Formation Margaret Ogram, Faith Formation Coordinator Totus Tuus is a summer Catholic youth program dedicated to sharing the Gospel and promoting the Catholic faith through evangelization, catechesis, Christian witness, Eucharistic worship, and fun! Youth are invited to participate in our program this year from June Thank you to those who have already stepped up to help out with Totus Tuus. If you can still help, please contact me at or faith@felixagnes.org We still need the following: a family to host the women on the Totus Tuus team in their home for the week hosts to feed the team dinner on Saturday, Monday, and Tuesday evenings at your home someone to serve lunch to the team around noon on Monday One of the women on the Totus Tuus team is gluten intolerant. Please keep this in mind as you prayerfully consider hosting them either for a meal or for the week. What a year! Catholic School Eric Sonnek, Principal As I write this, it has been exactly one year since I talked with Father Parrott about the principal position at. During this time last year, my family was at a crossroads, trying to figure out where God wanted us to be. I had just completed graduate school and was struggling to find an administrative job. Through prayer and trust in God, my family and I were led to Catholic School. We are blessed to be part of this great community. Some great things have happened this year at, from breaking goals in all of our major fundraisers, to the students packaging up 80-some gift boxes to send to Puerto Rico, to starting a LEGO robotic program, to building a playground... I could keep going with all the great things that happened this year. I want to thank a few people who have helped make these great things happen: I first want to thank my wife for the support she has given me and the sacrifices she has made, with this move and in helping keep me grounded and focused on the reason why. A big thank you to Father Parrott for taking a chance on me a year ago and for giving me the freedom and support to do the great things at. I want to thank Mary Passe for being my rock in the office. She has helped me understand the traditions of and kept me on track. I also want to thank the teachers and staff because they are truly the heart and soul of the school. Your passion and love for the students is visible in the work you do and sacrifices you make for. Another group I want to thank are the parents for choosing to send their children to. I understand the challenges this can bring, but know that God will reward you in the end. Students, thank you for a wonderful year filled with laughter and learning. I want to thank all the parishioners, families and friends that help financially, or through prayer or service. It is greatly appreciated and what makes St. Felix great. As I continue to reflect back on the year, I am truly amazed every day by the support this community has given my family, and am grateful to know that people are willing to help out with anything that is needed. This year s theme is Burst of Spring. Unit chairmen are calling for salads, desserts and volunteers. Cash donations may be put in an envelope marked Salad Luncheon and dropped in the collection basket. Put your name and unit on the envelope. Keep in mind this is the only fund raiser we have for the year. Proceeds will go towards school playground equipment. The auditorium will be open at 6:30 am the day of the luncheon. Interactive page allows individuals and families to create their own lock of compassion and express their hopes for all in need of compassion in our world today. The book now available online at the Catholic Charities website and at three locations in Rochester (Canadian Honker Pasquale s Pizzeria Tangerine Gifts). An inside page allows you to write a message and gift it to someone who defines compassion to you! All proceeds benefit the poor and marginalized served by Catholic Charities of Southern Minnesota.
