Your charitable gifts bring solace and consolation to the neediest of our brothers and sisters. Next weekend, we will celebrate World Mission Sunday. Pope Francis invites the entire Church to support the mission dioceses in Africa, Asia, the Pacific Islands, and parts of Latin America and Europe, where priests, religious and lay leaders serve the world's most vulnerable communities. Please keep the Pope's missions in your prayers, and be generous in next week's collection for the Society for the Propagation of the Faith. St. Felix Cemetery Notice Please remove real and artificial flowers from St. Felix Cemetery on or before October 20. Thank You! Please join us for Segment 6: The Spirit and the Eucharist, to view a 25 minute video. The Eucharistic liturgy is saturated with the presence of the Holy Spirit. From the moment you decide to go to Mass the Holy Spirit is active and alive. In this segment we will look at a few of the many ways that the Holy Spirit is present in the Mass that will enable you to encounter God when you attend the Liturgy. The meetings are held Thursdays in the afternoon from 1:00-2:15 pm at the Hust home ( th St E, Wabasha). It is also offered at St. Felix Catholic School on Thursday evenings from 6:30-7:45 pm. All are invited to join. Pastoral Council Meetings The St. Agnes Pastoral Council meeting will be held at on Wednesday, October 17, at St. Agnes Hall. The St. Felix Pastoral Council meeting will be held on Tuesday, October 23, at 7:00 pm at the parish office. Please suggestions for agenda items to Fr. As the principal, I am committed to ensuring that students needs and interests help shape instruction and extracurricular opportunities. Through this shared commitment to learning, I am excited to see students engaged in the classroom, participating at Mass, or any other area that stirs student interest and passion. An excellent education is not possible without the great collaboration of students, parents, and staff. One of the greatest takeaways from my recent conversations with staff, students and parents has been the immense enthusiasm and pride shown for the school and community. He sought what today s Psalm calls wisdom of heart. He learns that the wisdom he seeks is not a program of works to be performed or behaviors to be avoided. As Jesus tells him, observing the commandments is essential to walking the path of salvation but it can only get us so far. The Wisdom of God is not precepts, but a person Jesus Christ. Jesus is the Wisdom whose Spirit was granted to Solomon in today s First Reading. Jesus is the Word of God spoken of in today s Epistle. And Jesus, as He reveals Himself to the rich man today, is God. In Jesus we encounter Wisdom, the living and effective Word of God. As He does with the rich man today, He looks upon each of us with love. That look of love, that loving gaze, is a personal invitation to give up everything to follow Him. Nothing is concealed from His gaze, as we hear in the Epistle. In His fiery eyes, the thoughts of our hearts are exposed, and each of us must render an account of our lives (see Revelation 1:14). We must have the attitude of Solomon, preferring Wisdom to all else, loving Him more than even life itself. This preference, this love, requires a leap of faith. We will be persecuted for this faith, Jesus tells His disciples today. But we must trust in His promise that all good things will come to us in His company. What, then, are the many possessions that keep us from giving ourselves totally to God? What are we clinging to material things, comfort zones, relationships? What will it take for us to live fully for Christ s sake and the sake of the Gospel? Let us pray for the wisdom to enter into the kingdom of God. With the Psalmist, let us ask Him, Teach us.

We hope to begin meeting in November. The Pope described marriage as a project to be worked on together and a process of growth (Amoris Laetitia, no. 218, 221). A group would consist of three to four couples. Groups would meet at homes once a month for social time, a shared meal, a short video on faith, and group discussion. The meeting would be from 6:00 to 9:00 pm. To sign up call the office with your names or contact Deacon John and Nancy Hust at or Plans are to make phone calls to invite participation, so please be open to think about this opportunity. Healing of our Hearts Third Annual Mass of Remembrance is a special Mass for anyone who has suffered the loss of a child through any means including illness, accident, still-birth, abortion, or miscarriage, or who has suffered due to infertility. Hospitality and refreshments will be available after Mass. Please join in prayerful support on Thursday, October 25, at 7:00 pm at St. Mary of the Lake (Lake City). Confessions will be available at.
