Contact the Pastor before setting up any arrangements to begin preparing for this holy union! Preparation is required for all marriages and must begin at least six months beforehand. RCIA Everyone is invited to the fullness of communion with Christ in the Catholic Church! Call the parish office to inquire about becoming Catholic. MINISTRY TO THE SICK If you or a family member are sick, hospitalized or homebound and wish to receive Holy Communion, contact the parish office. Those who are seriously ill or anticipating surgery should make arrangements to receive the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick as soon as possible. 2 St. Felix Catholic School Eric Sonnek, Principal Here is what s happening at our God s Kids Program: A preschooler isn t too young for our summer program! We have two 3 year-olds participating this summer, and they are eager to learn. Our program is introducing them to structure and independence, and broadening their world by exposing them to other children and activities. This summer we have 44 students signed up. Some attend daily, some less formally. The numbers have definitely increased and added excitement to each and every day. New programs this summer include Faith Quest, Speak Up, and technology with laptop computers; intergenerational activities with St. Elizabeth s seniors, Lego Day and Rocks of Love. We are sure you have seen some of our rocks placed outside of downtown businesses. Oh the swimming! This summer, swimming lessons are incorporated into our schedule, along with weekly pool visits on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Swimming is what kids enjoy doing on these hot summer days. Our field trip to the Eau Claire Children s Museum was a huge hit. The students enjoyed exploring a kidsized construction zone. They explored a multi-level house by crawling and climbing through structures deep in the midst of construction. A cluster of kidsized city buildings and shops was just perfect for roleplaying, and so much more. The Wabasha Public Library is wonderful as always, providing our students with exciting new projects and activities, such as: Weekly Challenge sheets, Book to Movie, Chelsey s Craft Corner, Art Week, Story Time, Pet Parade, Prince and Princess Party, Science of Sound, African Drummers, Global Games, the Zoo Mobile, and that s just through the end of June! It s not fun and games all day, every day. We incorporate reading, math and writing each day. Our bulletin board this summer features a photo of each student, a hand colored likeness and their name below. It starts a conversation about using a person s name when talking to them as a sign of respect. Looking forward, we have field trips scheduled to Winona for a movie, to Red Wing s Water Park and community outings to Riverboat Lanes for bowling and to make your own pizza, and so much more. Happy Summer to Everyone! Faith Formation Margaret Ogram, Faith Formation Coordinator Totus Tuus Every Catholic has the responsibility to know, love and serve God. Totus Tuus is an excellent tool for the spiritual growth of Catholic youth. This past week has been an exciting opportunity to experience our faith as teachers, students and community members. As a team, we ve received tremendous hospitality and support from parishioners to whom we are eternally grateful. It s wonderful to see the Holy Spirit at work in each and every one of us! Thank you so much for this wonderful week. We hope to see you next summer! Volunteers are welcome and needed. This is a great way to get involved with the parish and the school. SCRIP is a great way to raise money for our school and help pay your family s tuition at no extra cost to you! POSITION OPEN! St. Felix and St. Agnes Parishes are looking to hire a qualified finance coordinator. This position maintains all business records for the St. Felix Parish and Cemetery, St. Agnes Parish and Cemetery and St. Felix Catholic School, handles accounts payable and receivable, bills and tracks tuition payments, runs payroll and more. If you are interested or know someone interested in this position, please contact Fr. Parrott.
