Jones (Joanne Hull) Our Wider Fellowships: In the Diocese of Ohio pray for the South Central Mission Area, and in the Anglican Cycle of Prayer, pray for New Zealand and Polynesia May Outreach Partner: Lakewood Community Service Center is our Outreach Focus partner for Mayr. St. Peter s and LCSC have a long history together. Several St. Peter s parishioners have served on the Board of Directors, even more have volunteered there. Here is a small sample of the many services that LCSC provides to the community. Food - A four-day supply of food once every 30 days to individuals and families who come in for assistance, seasonal free Farmers Market, free delivery to qualified senior citizens of emergency food, community gardens. Housing - Helping individuals and families to secure and maintain stable housing, homelessness prevention, supportive housing, and short term temporary housing to Lakewood residents who are at imminent risk of homelessness. The Center's 5,250 square foot facility provides ample space for additional client services offered free of charge by community partner agencies. For example, landlord/renter rights issues, legal assistance for civil matters, assisting clients with SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) and HEAP (Home Energy Assistance Program. For more information visit their services are substantial and the need is great. Please give generously in May. St. Luke Donations: Due to our impending construction, St. Peter s will no longer be able to accept donations for St. Luke s. Until construction is completed, we have no place to put the donations. Therefore, if you have a donation, please contact, St. Luke s to make arrangements to take your items directly to their facility located at 1349 West 78 th.

2 Bible Study: Wednesday Bible Study will resume at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 9 th in the Undercroft Lounge. Cards by Lorna will be available for sale on Sunday, May 6 th before and after the services. A large variety of cards will be in stock, with all proceeds benefiting the Youth Mission Trip. Altar Flowers: St. Peter s has several Sundays throughout the year available for you to place flowers at the altar. If you would like flowers to memorialize or honor your loved ones, you may do so by contacting the office at Seasonal flower arrangements are $50. Call or stop by the office to see if your date is available. The people of St. Peter s thank you for your thoughtfulness and generosity. Calling All Graduates: If you or a family member are graduating from high school and/or college, we need to know. Please Michelle at dartwoman@sbcglobal.net with details on WHERE from, WHERE are they going onto, Majors, Scholarships, Awards, Accolades, whatever other information you can share. Lastly, a picture for our bulletin board. We will recognize you on Sunday, May 20 th at the 10am service. Thank You Volunteers: Did you give your time to the children and youth of our parish this past formation year? If so, then you're invited to breakfast! The Sunday School Appreciation Breakfast will be held on Sunday, May 20 th at 9:00 a.m. All Children & Youth Volunteers and their families are invited to come and enjoy a hot and yummy breakfast (prepared by Michelle) in honor of your hard work and dedication to Children and Youth Ministries this Formation Year. Please RSVP to the main church office no later than Tuesday, May 15 th. Youth Mission Trip Donut Sale: The youth mission trip team will be selling decadent topped donuts in replace of the annual bake sale. Please consider picking up a dozen or two decadently topped donuts for Mother s Day, Sunday, May 13th after both services. Youth Group meet in the kitchen at 7:00 a.m. to prepare the toppings.

3 Name Tags: Each Sunday, you are invited to write out your name on a name tag and wear it so everyone will know who you are Permanent name badges are available for ordering! Please call the office if you would like to place an order for a badge (red background with white lettering). The badges are available with magnetic backs or pins. (Please remember: anyone with a pacemaker should not order a magnetic back badge.) The cost of the badge is $7.50. Call or office@stpeterslakewood.org the office with questions or to place an order. It s Spring Clean-Up Time! The annual allparish Spring Clean-Up Day has been scheduled for Saturday, May 19 th. It s time for us to prepare the church for Spring and Summer. We need help with planting flowers, raking leaves, grading soil, and general clean-up. We ll start at 8:30 a.m. (give us as much time as you can spare) and finish around noon. A light breakfast will be provided. So, come join us for some outdoor fun and fellowship. Thanks for your help. St. Cecilia s Guild June Luncheon: St. Cecilia Guild will not meet in May. Please save the date for the annual June luncheon at the Cleveland Yacht Club on Wednesday, June 20. If you have any questions at St. Cecilia please contact Lorna Jordan , ljcookie1@gmail.com. The St. Cecilia s Guild will meet for our annual summer luncheon at the Cleveland Yacht Club on Wednesday, June 20 th at 12:00 pm (noon). Enjoy a beverage from the cash bar and hopefully we will be able to enjoy the outside deck and a great view of the Rocky River and the boats. We will take our seats at 12:30 and have a brief meeting about our organization. Lunch will be served at 12:45. The menu features Chicken Bruschetta, rosemary red skin potatoes, green beans and carrots, with tossed salad and sticky buns. Cream Brule will be our dessert. Coffee and tea are included in the $25 price, as is the gratuity. There is also a cash bar. A check for $25, made out to our host, Naomi Opdycke, will serve as your RSVP. 4 Vacation Bible School: June 11 thru June 15, :30 a.m. Noon Cost is $20 per student w/a Family Max of $50 (this rate includes a scholarship for Saint Peter's families) PreK-5th Grade Cokesbury s Rolling River Rampage invites children on a white-water rafting adventure to experience the ride of a lifetime with God! Along the river, children discover that life with God is an adventure full of wonder and surprise, and that they can trust God to be with them through anything. Relevant music, exciting science, creative crafts, fun recreation, and memorable Bible stories will help kids know that God is always with them as they ride the rapids of amazing grace! Annual Parish Picnic: Sunday, June 10 th : The annual Parish Picnic will be Sunday, June 10 th at 10:00 a.m. at Lakewood Park in the Kiwanis (open) Pavilion. St. Peter s will provide hot dogs and hamburgers.
