From the Pastor s Heart The most exciting thing in all of our lives is when we look back and see some of the wonderful things God has done in our lives.

As we reflect on the things He has done in our lives, could you have done it yourself? As we look at the future of Magalia Community Church, we know that we cannot grow the church without Him.

We need to expect miracles. He is still in the business of doing miracles. There are some exciting opportunities coming our way. God is busy working on this ridge.

1 From the Pastor s Heart The most exciting thing in all of our lives is when we look back and see some of the wonderful things God has done in our lives. Before you read on, take a moment to contemplate some of the most wonderful things He has done in your life. He is an awesome God. He loves each one of us, and He loves your neighbor. As we reflect on the things He has done in our lives, could you have done it yourself? As we look at the future of Magalia Community Church, we know that we cannot grow the church without Him. If we could grow God s church by ourselves, we wouldn t see the Glory of God. As we seek His will for our Church Family, we need to come together in prayer just as they did in Chronicles. We need to expect miracles. He is still in the business of doing miracles. There are some exciting opportunities coming our way. God is busy working on this ridge. I have no doubt that we will see God do some very exciting things through MCC. There are too many people in this community that need His love and grace. The wonderful part is that YOU know that grace. YOU are holding the secret that your neighbor needs to hear. Pray that God gives us direction, energy, and the right people to help us accomplish His will in our community. These may be difficult times for us financially, but He has the answer and part of that answer is prayer, reaching out, and knowing that He is in charge. As we begin to grow, it will be especially important for us to give God the Glory. I have no doubt that we have a very bright future here - do you? Do you have faith that God can still do mighty works? Pray with faith. Pray each day that God will send someone to you that you may influence and share the Gospel with. It is time think positive and get excited as we look forward to the mighty works that God is going to do through each one of us. Start each day with a prayer of Thanksgiving and maybe the song, I ve got that joy, joy, joy, joy down in my heart. Remember, some of those blessings you thought about came at the lowest points in your life. Get pumped and be blessed as you bless others, Pastor Kevin. There will also be tables available inside the hall. The price will vary according to the meal, and the starting time is 5:30. 1

Sign up in the Office to offer a one hour or more shift for prayer for this nation, our state, our Church, and The Ridge. (Eight total hours of prayer each day in the Chapel.) July 5 All-church picnic - SUNDAY Open to the public Everyone is invited On the church property BBQ, potluck, and fun Talent show with prizes Line dancing Line dancing lessons The church will provide hamburgers and hot dogs. Ladies Nite Out After 21 years, Ladies Nite Out has come to a conclusion. It was a hard decision to make, but we no longer have the volunteers required to put on this event. So many people from this church helped make Ladies Nite a success. Paul was invaluable in the kitchen. Kevin willingly provided the technical work with video and audio. In over two decades, we had innumerable helpers from this church and many others. Ladies Nite Out (LNO) was not an event of this church; it was planned by and for lots of women. However, Bette Butler was the original initiator, and she attended MCC at the time the group started. During these past two decades, many people have been reached in this community. LNO had a positive influence on The Ridge, changed the heart of many and showed how God feels about women. These events will be missed by many. We need to face it with God s help. He loves us and will help if we ask him through prayer.

You can and should be anonymous. You can write what you want to say and put it in my box in the Office.

Please pray for God s wisdom and respond to my request. Thank you. We have the reputation of being a loving church. Let s continue to earn that reputation.

That s what we humans do, avoid the unpleasant things of life any way we can; sometime by simply ignoring what seems to be unpleasant. But the unpleasantness really doesn t go away. We need to face it with God s help. He loves us and will help if we ask him through prayer. Last month I asked if you would write me about your reasons for coming to church, what you needed from church etc. I receive only a few responses. I had hoped for more from you. Your input is needed. You can and should be anonymous. You can write what you want to say and put it in my box in the Office. I have read what I received, and one of the notes told me I should also be asking, Why don t you come to church? So I am including this in my second request for your input. Please pray for God s wisdom and respond to my request. Thank you. We have the reputation of being a loving church. Let s continue to earn that reputation. These coming times may be trying for those of us that profess the Gospel of Jesus Christ and follow his commandments. We need our fellowship with God and each other more than ever. Well-stated complaints and criticism can be as helpful as positive and flattering comments. Salad, bread, and dessert are always served. A Vegetarian Option is almost always available. If you want the Vegetarian Meal, just ask for it. June 17 Pizza, salad 24 Baked potato and salad bar Starting July 1, the meals will be served as a picnic with seating both inside and outside. Sewing for Jesus, Crafters and Ceramics CERAMIC GROUPS There has been a change in our Ceramic Groups. The adult group has not grown as hoped for.

I felt my time could be used elsewhere (my very messy house and abused yard). Did not want to incur the cost to the church further as the income was very nominal.

I will head this up with lots of help (no help - no ceramics) At 80 years old, I can t do it alone. The time that Leah and Rochelle can help is on Tuesday, so we will be meeting from 1:00 to 3:00.

PLANT and FABRIC SALE We did it!! Had a successful sale; sending $237.00 to our church s general fund. Our prices were more than reasonable, and still we could have sold a lot more.

We had collected a lot of material, some that we just could not use due to lack of interest by those who do not wish to sew any longer.

The plants were very popular with the shoppers, and you donated a nice variety of plants. Carol and I will nurture the leftover plants at our homes.

I hope, when time allows and molds are received to make decorative pots, we will have them for our next plant sale. The seven children are still enjoying doing ceramics. This gives them time to clean and paint their pieces and clean up. The Regel children will be joining us upon their return from vacation. (We will miss them). We will be donating what is left over to the Senior Center and local Thrift stores. We are very grateful to those of you who donated plants to the sale. The plants were very popular with the shoppers, and you donated a nice variety of plants. Carol and I will nurture the leftover plants at our homes. If anyone would like to give a plant away as a gift, please let me know. We have two beautiful lamb s ears (also known as rabbit s ears) plants in pots. Not sure of the others, but will try to get names. We placed a price of only $1.00 on most of them. Sewing and Crafters are taking a much-needed break until some time in August. I still will be sewing at home. The pillowcase dresses are fun to make and easy, so will be placing them in our church clothes closet. They are for summertime. I personally want to thank Carol Stephens and Sharon Henry for their very hard work and long hours in putting our sale together. Thank you Linda K. and Gloria M. for assisting at the sale. We could not have done it without all of you. Hopefully next year we will have more persons to assist us. We will appreciate new ideas, too, for this ministry.
