In the spirit of Jesus Christ, our parish seeks to foster a welcoming community through worship of God, religious education for all, and service to one another. PARISH STAFF Pastor: Fr. Francis J. (See Mass Intentions ) SACRAMENT OF BAPTISM FOR INFANTS: Baptism is celebrated by appointment on the second and fourth Sundays of the month after the 12:15 PM Mass. A reflection on the gift of the Sacrament of Baptism is provided monthly for parents, in the Parish Office. Call the Religious Education Office to register. INITIATION INTO THE CHURCH (RCIA & CIC): RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) and CIC (Christian Initiation of Children) are processes by which un-baptized persons and baptized persons from other faith traditions or with no formal religious education, are brought into the Church. Please contact the Religious Education Office. RELIGIOUS EDUCATION: All children of the parish are expected to receive Religious Education in the parish school or the CCD program. Preparation for First Holy Communion and Confirmation take place in this context. SACRAMENT OF RECONCILIATION: The Sacrament is available Saturday 3:00-3:45 PM, and any time by appointment. SACRAMENT OF MARRIAGE: Arrangements must be made at least six (6) months in advance of the anticipated date by contacting the priest. A date will not be set until a couple has met with the priest. RELIGIOUS VOCATIONS: For information on the priesthood or religious life contact the priest or the Vocation Office of the Diocese of Pittsburgh at , ext. 23. SACRAMENT OF ANOINTING OF THE SICK: Every Sunday after the 8:00 am Mass this Sacrament is offered for anyone who is facing an operation or going into the hospital. If you are homebound and need this sacrament, contact the Parish Office. HOSPITALIZED PARISHIONERS AND SHUT-INS: Please call the Parish Office if someone in your family is hospitalized or a shutin. If a parishioner is not able to attend Mass, the priest and/or Eucharistic Ministers can take Communion to the home on Sundays. NOCTURNAL ADORATION: There is exposition of the Blessed Sacrament on the First Friday of the month from 10 PM until 7AM. PARISH REGISTRATION: Those new to the area, newlyweds and single adults, are asked to register by contacting the Parish Office.

2 Page 2 CATHOLIC SCHOOLS WEEK Now that our celebration of National Catholic Schools Week has ended, the faculty, staff and students wish to thank all the families and friends who helped make our week so special. Special Thanks to our PTG Board and to all our parent volunteers that helped during our celebration of Catholic Schools Week. o The Talent Show was a wonderful way to wrap-up our celebration of Catholic Schools Week. Our students did a wonderful job! I would like to thank the Talent Show Planning Committee (Rena Ciotti, Jesse Jakubowski, Carla Dick, Matt & Carrie Jenkins) for all their hard work in bringing the Talent Show back for the students of St. Margaret s. In addition, I would like to thank the Gensler Family (Caldwell Windoware, Inc.) for generously donating the new stage curtain for our stage in the cafeteria! STATIONS OF THE CROSS The Students of St. Margaret of Scotland School will be praying the Stations of the Cross every Friday in Lent excluding Good Friday at 2:30PM. All parishioners are welcome! Many Blessings, Mr. Munz Date Time Location 2/27/2018 6pm 9pm 4/21/ am 1pm 6th Sunday in Ordinary Time MANDATED REPORTER TRAINING -Live Sessions- These persons are required to obtain Mandated Reporter Training: Athletic Coaches and Helpers, Cafeteria Workers, Catechists, Chaperones, Music Ministry Volunteers, School Volunteers, Scouting Volunteers, and others with the equivalent of these positions. Mandated Reporter Training is available online by visiting the diopitt.org website, clicking on Safe Environment, and following the prompts. You may also take a live class. The class lasts 3 hours, whether online or in person. The following live MRT classes have been scheduled. If you are required to complete this training, you are able to sign up through Signup Genius and each session is limited to 50 participants. Sign up is on a first come, first served basis and there are only 50 spaces in each session. When it closes, there can be no others admitted. Celebrating World Marriage Day Sunday, February 11 th Page World Marriage Day honors husband and wife as head of the family, the basic unit of society. It salutes the beauty of their faithfulness, sacrifice and joy in daily, married life. World Marriage Day is sponsored by Worldwide Marriage Encounter and is designated to be celebrated each year throughout the world on the second Sunday in February. The theme for World Marriage Day has been permanently adopted as Love One Another. This simple phrase is the commandant given us by Jesus in John 15:12. It speaks to us in a simple but challenging way of how our Heavenly Father wishes to live. Loving one another is a daily decision-simple, but challenging. St. Margaret of Scotland Parish will celebrate this day by distributing personal copies of Prayer for Our Marriage at the doors after each Mass. Please pray for all our married couples as they journey through life. PRE-CANA WEEKEND St. Anne Parish (400 Hoodridge Drive, Pittsburgh, 15234) will host a weekend marriage preparation program on Friday, March 2 & Saturday March 3, Couples who are planning to be married in the Church this year must first attend marriage preparation, or pre-cana classes. Times for the weekend are Friday, March 2, 6:00 pm 9:30 pm & Saturday, March 3, 8:30 am 5:00 pm. The weekend which is conducted by married couples in the parish is a blessed time to discover and further understand living the vocation and sacrament of marriage. The cost is $60.00 per couple to help cover materials and meals. You must pre-register and you can do so by calling the parish office or ing kgrella@stanneparish.com. Children s Liturgy will take place on the FIRST Sunday of each month. Children ages 3 and up are invited and will be escorted over to the Parish Office for an ageappropriate version of the First and Second Readings and the gospel. Each week, they will receive a Bible Verse sticker to take home. We hope this will be an opportunity to bring the Word of God to our little ones in a very special way. Volunteers are always welcome! Weekend Retreat for Post-Abortion Healing Rachel s Vineyard, a weekend retreat designed to heal the emotional and spiritual wounds of abortion, will be held on March 2-4, 2018 at Tabor House in Millvale. In a confidential and supportive atmosphere, Rachel s Vineyard demonstrates God s love, forgiveness, and compassion to women (and men) struggling with abortion s aftermath.
