(See Mass Intentions ) SACRAMENT OF BAPTISM FOR INFANTS: Baptism is celebrated by appointment on the second and fourth Sundays of the month after the 12:15 PM Mass. A reflection on the gift of the Sacrament of Baptism is provided monthly for parents, in the Parish Office. Call the Religious Education Office to register. INITIATION INTO THE CHURCH (RCIA & CIC): RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) and CIC (Christian Initiation of Children) are processes by which un-baptized persons and baptized persons from other faith traditions or with no formal religious education, are brought into the Church. Please contact the Religious Education Office. RELIGIOUS EDUCATION: All children of the parish are expected to receive Religious Education in the parish school or the CCD program. Preparation for First Holy Communion and Confirmation take place in this context. SACRAMENT OF RECONCILIATION: The Sacrament is available Saturday 3:00-3:45 PM, and any time by appointment. SACRAMENT OF MARRIAGE: Arrangements must be made at least six (6) months in advance of the anticipated date by contacting the priest. A date will not be set until a couple has met with the priest. RELIGIOUS VOCATIONS: For information on the priesthood or religious life contact the priest or the Vocation Office of the Diocese of Pittsburgh at SACRAMENT OF ANOINTING OF THE SICK: Every Sunday after the 8:00 am Mass this Sacrament is offered for anyone who is facing an operation or going into the hospital. If you are homebound and need this sacrament, contact the Parish Office. HOSPITALIZED PARISHIONERS AND SHUT-INS: Please call the Parish Office if someone in your family is hospitalized or a shut-in. If a parishioner is not able to attend Mass, the priest and/or Eucharistic Ministers can take Communion to the home on Sundays. NOCTURNAL ADORATION: There is exposition of the Blessed Sacrament on the First Friday of the month from 10 PM until 7AM. DINE OUT NIGHTS I would like to everyone who came out in support of our S P Dine Out Nights that took place every Tuesday in September. These Dine Out Nights raised $ Sammy s Pizzeria donated 15% of their sales back to our school. S T to Valerie Romanovich for organizing this event for us. Our Dine Out Nights are sponsored by our PTG. SAVE THE DATE Our next Dine Out Night will take place on Monday, October 15, 2018 at the B M on Greentree Road. For more information or for purchasing one, please contact any K of C member, or for delivery, call Jason Maruccio at th Sunday in Ordinary Time Our St. Vincent de Paul Society will be collecting gently used clothing and small household appliances on Saturday, October 20, from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Look for the Saint Vincent de Paul truck that will be in the parking lot between the school and church. Proceeds will be taken to Hope House in Preston County, West Virginia, the following day. Although all donations are greatly appreciated, the Hope House is especially in need of blankets; boy's clothing in sizes 5, 6, 7, and 8; and large sizes of women's and men's clothes. Non-perishable food items to re-stock their pantry are welcome. Thank you in advance for your generosity. Masquerade Charity Ball Saturday, October 20, 2018, the LAOH Division 11 presents the Masquerade Charity Ball for division charities at the Boiler Room, 1221 Banksville Avenue, Pittsburgh Open bar, and dancing with the Mansfield Five, raffles and prizes for costumes and masques. Grecco Friends, I am happy to announce the hiring of Bela Pater as Director of Music Ministries for Grouping 210. With the departure for Italy of Nick Will at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, and after discussion with Mark Carver at St. Margaret and Tom Octave at SS Simon & Jude, the need for a full-time director was evident. Bela comes to us with a wealth of experience and a great desire to serve the liturgical and musical needs of the three parishes in 210. Bela has an affinity for all types of music and will work with the choirs, contemporary and traditional, of each of the parishes to enrich present programs and help them to together benefit the Catholic community of Carnegie, Greentree and Scott. He will begin his ministry on October 15. Please welcome him. CHIMBOTE DINNER INVITATION Come for an enjoyable meal, but mostly to learn about the incredible medical and missionary work our diocese has done for 55 years in Chimbote, Peru. Serving the poorest of the poor, 1000 patients a day are treated at the outpatient clinic and over 200,000 births have occurred at La Maternidad Maria because of annual financial support from our local Chimbote Foundation. On Thursday October 18, 6pm at the Sheraton Station Square enjoy Filet & Salmon Duo or Vegetarian entre. The parish will host a table at this event; once those seats are gone, tickets are $160. Congratulations to our deacon candidate Paul Lim for being elevated to the Ministry of Reader by Bishop Zubik during a Mass at Saint Paul Seminary last Wednesday. Please pray for Paul, his wife Liz and their children as he continues to discern the call to serve the Church of Pittsburgh in diaconal ministry. Calling All Pro-Lifers! THIS SUNDAY, October 7, is Life Chain Sunday. It is a day when people are reminded of the fact that many millions of babies have been killed in their mothers wombs since 1973 when abortion was legalized in our country. There will be a one-hour demonstration on Greentree Road on the sidewalk above our church parking lot after the 12:15 PM Mass. All are welcome and encouraged to attend. Appropriate signs without pictures will be provided. OPERATION SHOE BOX The St. Vincent de Paul Society is again sponsoring Operation Shoe Box that benefits residents at area homeless shelters. Large collection boxes are located near the church s entrances through November 21st. Please refer to this Sunday s bulletin insert that lists suggested items that can be donated. Because of the generous support to this project by the St. Margaret of Scotland parish community and school, almost 250 wrapped boxes were distributed last year. The St. Vincent de Paul Society thanks everyone for their continued support helping to make others happy by fulfilling the true spirit of giving at Christmas.
