Even though the official day has passed, it is good to continue to think about freedom! It was on July 4, 1776 that the Declaration of Independence was adopted. Freedom from Great Britain! How wonderful it is that we still live in the land of the free and the home of the brave! The freedoms that we enjoy in our great land was secured and preserved at a great price.., the time, efforts, blood and lives of many men and women throughout the years! We thank and honor all who have ever served in our country s military as well as those who still are serving! We thank you all for your sacrifice! Let s use the wonderful freedoms we enjoy in our nation to spread the Gospel and expand the Kingdom of God! Spiritual freedom, in Jesus Christ, was also secured at a great price - suffering, bleeding and death of Jesus Christ. Freedom from the bondage of sins, freedom to live our lives the way God intended us to live them, and freedom from eternal damnation in Hell all come by trusting Jesus Christ as our Saviour, Who sacrificed Himself in our place (but, praise the Lord, rose from the dead on the third day!). John 8:36 tells us that if the Son makes us free, we will be truly free... free to obey the Lord, free to have a wonderful, abundant life (John 10:10), free to glorify and honor the Lord, free to serve the One Who set us free from bondage, free to share the wonders of our Lord s grace! We believers in Jesus Christ are not enslaved to religion, like many people are today. Rather, we are FREE to love, worship and serve the One Who loved us first! We are FREE to have a relationship with Him! What a wonderful truth! We have learned the truth, and the truth has set us free (John 8:32). Praise the Lord! Enjoy your freedoms... in the United States of America, and in Jesus Christ! Use those freedoms for His glory! Pastor John

5 Recipe of the Month: Stuffed Zucchini ;> INGREbIENTS: 3 zucchini 1 pound pork sausage 1 cup dried bread crumbs 1 clove garlic minced 1(32 ounce) jar of spaghetti 1/2 cup grated parmesan ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese birections: 1 Preheat oven to 350 degrees. 2. Trim sterns from zucchini and slice lengthwise. Scoop out seeds and put in bowl. Mix seeds with sausage, garlic, bread crumbs, and parmesan cheese. Stuff squash with sausage mixture and place in 9x13 inch baking pan. Pour spaghetti sauce over squash and cover pan with foil. 3. Bake in preheated oven for 45 minutes or until sausage is cooked. 8 all WE ASKED, YOU RESPONDED!! We recently asked, What is your favorite restaurant/eating establishment, and why? Cindy Fraser: Fratelli s, because they have the best non-mexican, non-sandwich, non-burger food than any other restaurant in town. There is a great Mexican place on 2nd on the west side of the street, West End Deli has the best sandwiches and Grandpa s Grill has the best hamburgers in Gallup. Al Charles: Best Steak & Cocino De Dominquez. Not a skimpy steak, and yummy enchiladas. Best Italian food is Fratelli s; does not matter what dish - homemade Lasagna. is excellent. Panz Allegra runs a close 2nd (Italian) for their David Klumpenhower: Where else? Don Diego s! Nancy Cadigan: I like Don Diego s best because their food is consistently good from morning to night, the per portions are generous, wait staff is fast (usually) and friendly. Menu has a lot of variety and not too large. Roger Scarbro: I like Chu Cu s in Zuni. We take the Zuni youth we are discipling there a couple times a month. Food is good, and the owner s wife and some other family members have begun to attend church with us. They let our Zuni youth group use their backroom to watch the Super Bowl on large screen. Susan Nixon: Chuck s favorite restaurant is Golden Corral because he enjoys the variety of foods in the buffet. My favorite restaurant is Cracker Barrel because I enjoy the food, the atmosphere and the little store. Dan Cadigan: I think Applebee s has, generally, great food, but the last time we were there, the service was terrible! I guess that my favorite over-all restaurant is Cracker Barrel. Marji Campbell: That s easy!! Mine is Fratelli s because I can usually arrange to see two of my grandkids there! (Editor s note: Marji s daughter and son-in-law own Fratelli s! ) Angela Silva: Good question and I cannot wait to read other reviews. I believe that speaking for most of us here at the Silva house, our Fave is Grandpa s Grill. We enjoy the yummy delicious food! Kids love getting the chocolate pudding cup for dessert. It is not the healthy living type food to choose from and that is why we do not go there all the time but the flavors that you get are top notch. Maribeth Gossard: Loved Don Diego s when I Came Adovada). was there and now realize how good it truly is (Breakfast Burritos and Pastor John: Linda and I enjoy various restaurants in town, including Camille s, Fratelli s, Grandpa s Grill, The Rocket... But if you re looking for a wonderful sandwich, it s tough to beat West End Deli! Delicious food, reasonable prices, great atmosphere, AND, you get to talk to either Mike or Lena! Doesn t get much better than that! AND... Question for the August 2014 issue of GRACE NOTES... Where is your favorite place to vacation, and why? A sentence or two will be fine! The phrase, Face the music, which refers to coming to grips with an unpleasant situation (often a case in which we must confront someone we have wronged!) came about in the following way: In the days when wars were fought exclusively on land, whenever the troops were about to go into battle, the band was at the head of the line. They played military music while the lines were forming. The command immediately preceding the forward march order was, Face the music. Every soldier knew its meaning. Another possible origin of the phrase is the process of drumming a soldier out of service. With the entire company at attention, drums were rolled to the tune of the Rogue s March. Among theatrical performers, face the music refers to the courage an actor must have to gaze at the playing musicians in the orchestra pit with the spotlight turned right on him.
