2 PERSONAL WORD ALL SAINTS SUNDAY SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 2, :45 & 11:00 AM Sanctuary The 8:45 AM worship service is broadcast via 15-minute delay from 9-10 AM Sundays on WAPI-1070 AM. SERMON Dr. Andrew Wolfe MUSIC 8:45 AM Praise Alliance 11:00 AM Sanctuary Choir MINISTER ON CALL Nathan Carden, Great worship, great fellowship, great food (we fed over 1,000 people) equals a GREAT DAY AT TRINITY. We call this Celebration Sunday because it is the day we step back, reflect on what God is doing in our church and look forward to where God is leading us. It has been a remarkable year we have seen our ministry grow in breadth and depth. Imagine 550 students on Discovery weekend, over 500 children in VBS, 275 people in involved in mission trips! And behind each of these numbers is a story a life touched, transformed, and being formed in Christian Discipleship. And behind these stories are your gifts of time, talent and treasure. One thing we have discovered is that we do all these ministries on a modest budget when compared to other churches of our size and scope. Chris Kramer shared with the congregation that our budget has not kept pace with our ministry. He challenged us to take a step forward. You responded! Thus far, the commitments we have received for the 2015 Ministry Budget are running more than 5% ahead of the same commitments this time last year. Thank you to all who have responded. Below you will find a detailed report. Our attendance and participation on Sunday surpasses recent years. 379 family units have completed an Estimate of Giving Card. If you were unable to be present on Sunday, you will receive a follow up letter. You may also make your commitment online at Every gift counts! Every good and perfect gift comes down from above James 1:17 8:45 & 11:00 AM WESLEY HALL, Rev. 3 Why turn in an Estimate of Giving? It is important to complete an Estimate of Giving card: So that our church can faithfully plan for ministry. In order that we can grow spiritually. Jesus said Where your treasure is, there your heart will be. Jesus taught that giving is a way of setting our priorities on God. John Wesley wrote that money is a gift of God that provides us the opportunity for doing good. Through our gifts, we share the story of Jesus and bring about good in the world. What is expected of us? A tithe (tenth) of everything from the land belongs to the Lord, it is holy to the Lord. Leviticus 27:30 The tithe, 10% of our income, is the Biblical standard for giving and represents a worthy goal. If we are not tithing, we can begin with a percentage of our income that is small enough to reach, but big enough to stretch us. We can commit to growing that percentage each year. If we gave 4% last year, stretch that to 5% this year. The point is that we start somewhere by giving at a proportion of our income that expresses our commitment to Christ. How do I turn in an Estimate of Giving? You may mail or deliver your card to the church office or drop it in the offering plate on Sundays. You may also submit it privately online: trinitybirmingham.com/resources/pledging/ HOW CAN YOU SERVE THIS WEEK? Check out WEEKLY CONNECT for ways that you can plug in to ministry today simple sign-ups available now log on to If you have questions about ways to use your gifts in service, contact Laura Eanes at leanes@trinitybirmingham.com. 3
