4 4 NATIVITY IN ACTION-JOIN-VOLUNTEER-GIVE Music Ministry Come be a part of our thriving music ministry and help Nativity to make a joyful noise! There are many opportunities for involvement and please speak with Scott Elsholz (scott.elsholz@nativity.cdom.org) if you or someone you know might be interested in joining one of our groups. Our ensembles rehearse at the following times: Wednesdays: 5 pm: Children s Choir (grades 2-9); 6 pm: Handbell Choir 7 pm: Cantors; 7:30 pm: Parish Choir -The Resurrection Choir rehearses two Tuesdays a month from 10-11:15 am and sings for all parish funerals. -The Nativity band plays two Masses per month and rehearses on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month from 1-2:30 pm. Volunteer cantors and musicians needed Ave Maria Chapel at Ave Maria Home in Bartlett needs occasional cantors/accompanists for the weekly Sunday Mass at 11 a.m. High school students who sing or play musical instruments can fulfill service hours. Many guests are homeless, hungry, and in need a shared smile and gentle spirit. We are seeking volunteers to help serve our guests on weekday mornings. The time commitment is 8:30-11:15 am. Al Kirk This classes will explore Jesus promise to send another Advocate. The Holy Spirit was His first Gift after the Ascension. St. Paul uses the phrase "Living in the spirit" as an apt summary of the Christian life. Yet we largely ignore thee presence and power of the Spirit of God. This course will seek to lead its participants through the rich portrayal of the Holy Spirit in the New Testament, with a view toward enriching the presence and maximizing the power of the Holy Spirit in our daily lives. Easter Lily Sale The Women s Guild would like to THANK all the parishioners that made this sale a success. A total of 132 lilies were donated to use in church. Thanks again! The NWG Board May Crowning and First Communion, Saturday, May 6, 2017 from 5 pm to 6:30 pm Helping Hands Ministry meets the 1st and 3rd Thursday at 9 am each month at Nativity. This ministry makes hats for the homeless, afghans and quilts for babies. Yarn is available just ask the office staff. All are welcome to join us or work at home. A BIG THANKS! I would like to thank all the Parishioners who attended and the different hosting Ministries for the success of the Soup & Salad Fridays. This was my last year for coordinating this event after 10 years. Over this time $8, was collected for Operation Rice Bowl and 3,408 were feed of which only 1,938 signed up to attend.
