At the end of September, the annual drive to support the West TN Catholic Newspaper will be replaced with a drive to support FAITH West Tennessee. Parish Choir will begin on Wednesday, 9/4 at 7 pm. This will be our first Wednesday, so it will be a food night. Bring your favorite food/beverage and we will celebrate birthdays after rehearsal. Place unused eye glasses (including Sun glasses) and hearing aids in the recycle box provided by World Cataract Foundation. To Date: 2480 pair of eye glasses and 20 hearing aids have been recycled by our parish.

Ministry to the Sick: A Shared Ministry Diocesan Ministry to the Sick Training for patient visitors will be held on Sat.. 9/21 from 9 am-3 pm at the Catholic Center, 5825 Shelby Oaks Dr., Memphis, TN The day long training includes sessions that will be helpful in becoming an effective minister. As a minister you are trained to bring compassion, communion, and become a sacramental presence of Christ for those sick and homebound. You will be nurturing the faith of these children and you will learn and grow in your faith as well. You will be part of a Catechist team, so you will not be on your own. You will receive training, materials, and support from fellow catechists. Classes begin Sundays, Sept. 8th and typically 3-4 times a month. Won t you give it some thought, and if you need more information or are interested, call or to arrange a time to speak with Theresa Krier. While it is not possible for every member of the parish community to physically be in the Atrium with the children, there are opportunities to directly impact their formational experience through donations or service throughout the year, and to pass on your faith. Peace, Theresa Krier Young Adult Opportunities Theology on Tap: You are invited to Theology on Tap, an exciting group for young adult Catholics in their 20s and 30s. Or follow us on Mark your Calendars: After all Masses the Junior and Senior High will have its first Bake sale of the year on Oct 12 & 13. The proceeds will help get the 7th-12th grade to Abbey Youth Fest this year. On October 19, we will go to the Haunted Corn Maze from 6:45 to 9:45. This is open to 7th-12th grade youth. Cost $10.00 per person. We will meet there. But if you arrive before 6:45 and cannot find us, it is because we meet at 6:45. Father Keith will join us this night for our haunted adventure. Scouting News Nativity s Scout Pack 258 meets Wednesday, 5 pm until 9 pm, October 1, 2013 in Stelling Hall All-Saints-A-Rama is this year s theme of the 2013 Catholic Scouting Retreat to be held Nov at Camp Currier in Eudora, MS. The registration fee is $15.00 per individual Scout, adult and sibling, with a maximum of $60.00 per family. This is the fee for anyone attending day trips or camping.
