Putano for information prior to the birth of the child. For adults, contact Fr. Charles for the RCIA process. Marriage Arrangements must be made at least six months in advance with Fr. Charles or Msgr. Putano. One of the parties must be registered in the parish. Hospitalized Please notify the parish office when a family member is in the hospital. Very often we do not receive this information. Anointing of the Sick If you are preparing to enter the hospital for any reason and would like to be anointed, please contact the parish offices. Low Gluten hosts are available for anyone who is gluten intolerant. Please stop in the sacristy before Mass to let us know. Bulletin available on either parish website.

Hope Appeal Our Goals for 2017 are: Holy Trinity = $21,456.74, to date $21, SS. Cyril s = $24,390.50, to date $13, Hope Appeal dollars support our local Catholic Charities, the Vietnamese, Spanish & Deaf Apostolates, and the Campus ministry at Binghamton University as well as tuition assistance for Catholic Schools, which in turn has benefited our parishioners. 3 Our Parishes & Pastoral Care Area Holy Trinity & St. Cyril s Clothing Center We are putting together a clothing center in the basement of the St. Cyril s Parish Hall to give clothes away to families in the surrounding neighborhood. Our first clothing giveaway will be Saturday, November 4. Volunteers are needed on the following days 11/3 at 6pm: set up the clothing center 11/4, 9:30am-12:30pm: work the giveaway The following donations are needed Clothing in good condition (must be clean and not outdated); new undergarments and socks; winter coats for all ages, as well as hats, gloves, and mittens; shoes and sneakers in good condition; and hangers Remembrance Masses Wednesday, November 15 at 7pm, Holy Trinity Thursday, November 16 at 7pm, St. Cyril s All are invited to attend these special Masses to remember those from our Parishes who have passed away in the last year. If you have a loved one who passed away, but whose funeral wasn t held in either church, please contact the Parish Office and we will happily honor them. St. Cyril & Methodius Altar Rosary Society Our next meeting will be Sunday, November 5 after the 10:15am Mass. We will recite the Rosary in the Church beginning at 9:45am. March for Life Pilgrimage - January 18 to 20 Join the youth of the Diocese of Syracuse and 300,000 people from across the country at the March for Life in Washington, DC! This 3-day pilgrimage is for students in grades 7 through 12, and includes museum and monument tours, Mass with Bishop Cunningham at the National Basilica, and attendance at the Life is Very Good Evening of Prayer. The cost is only $75 per student (the rest is covered by our ongoing Youth Ministry fundraising efforts). Scholarships are available if finances are in any way a concern. If you are interested in attending, or would like more information, please contact Andrea Carey at acarey@syrdio.org by November 20. Please join us for this wonderful pilgrimage opportunity! Thanksgiving Basket Collections Holy Trinity is currently collecting donations. As we did last year, bags are available at the entrances to church with the list of needed items attached. St. Cyril s is collecting needed items on a weekly basis. On the weekend of November 4/5, we will collect gravy (no glass) and instant mashed potatoes. St. Cyril s Adult Volunteer Appreciation Dinner will be held on Saturday, November 4 in the Parish Hall immediately following the 4:30pm Mass. Adult volunteers and their spouses are invited to attend. Leaders of the various ministries will be contacting group members. Please let them know if you plan to attend, or contact the Parish Office no later than Monday, October 30. St. Thomas Aquinas Turkey Party Saturday, November 4 at 6pm in the St. Thomas Aquinas School Gym on Highland Avenue, across from West Middle School. Please join us for this adult only party (must be 18 or older to attend)! The cost is $10 per person, and includes lots of food and refreshments. Holy Trinity & St. Cyril s Advent Wreath Workshop, St. Cyril Hall on Sunday, November 26 beginning at 11am It s just 4 short weeks until the Advent Wreath Workshop! It s easy, quick, and we have all the supplies you will need. You can personalize your wreath with your own decorations too! We even have expert guides if you need help. We request that you bring scissors or small shears. This is a wonderful family activity and a great way to mark the weeks of Advent in your home! Sign-up sheets will be at both churches beginning in November. Please sign-up to help us know how many kits to prepare. If you have any questions, or would like to help, please call Sue and Bob Edwards at Indoor Yard Sale Sunday, November 19 from 11am to 4pm at St. Cyril s. Set-up by sellers is from 9am to 11am. The seller fee is $5 if you provide your own table, or $10 to rent a long table from us. You keep the rest of your earnings. Call Anne at for more information or to reserve a spot.

4 OCTOBER 29 - ORDINARY TIME Holly Day Fair Friday, November 10 and Saturday, November 11 from 9am to 4pm each day in the Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish Center, 701 West Main Street, Endicott. This event includes handmade crafts and gifts, collectibles and home décor, a quilt raffle, bake sale, and food. Baked goods will be for sale all day, and in the morning there will be coffee and doughnuts. Lunch will be served both days from 11am to 2pm, and take out is available. Protecting God s Children: Contact Safe Environment Coordinator Jacqueline Bressett, jbresette@syrdio.org for information. Any person working with children needs to take this training. John & Andrew Mon, 11/27 at 6pm - Our Lady of Good Counsel Re-Certification training sessions: Mon, 10/30 at 6pm - Our Lady of Good Counsel Sat, 11/11 at 9am - Our Lady of Good Counsel Wed, 11/29 at 6pm - Saints John & Andrew Showers of Hope Outreach Ministries of the Southern Tier is looking for volunteers to work behind the scene as well as on site locations for the Shower of Hope Project. The Showers of Hope Project is a mobile unit that will provide a safe showering facility for those in need. The shower unit is in place behind St. Patrick s Rectory. We are presently offering showers on Thursdays from 1-3 pm at St. Patrick s. For more information or to volunteer, please call Mary at: VOCATIONS In the Gospel today, we are reminded of the great commandment love you neighbor as yourself. In another place, Jesus explains that there is no greater love than to lay down your life for your neighbor. If you feel a call to priesthood or religious life, for your sake and your neighbor, answer that call. Call St. Anthony s Marketplace: Holiday Shopping, Craft Show & Flea Market Saturday, November 11 from 8:30am-2pm in St. Anthony s Church Hall, 300 Odell Avenue, Endicott. Browse over 20 local vendors, gift baskets, decorations, Italian specialties, collectibles, gift shop, pepper cookies, white elephant, and enjoy the food and bake sale. This year, there will be a special 100 year Celebration Raffle with 100 different gift card items winner takes all! Tickets for the raffle are $5 each. Binghamton H.S. Food & Toiletries Collection: We continually collect food and toiletries for Binghamton High School Students. Breakfast bars, granola bars, noodle cups and ramen noodles are suggested, as well as soaps, shampoos, deodorant, toothbrushes and toothpaste. A Family Perspective In today s gospel, the Pharisee was talking about commandments (something we are forced to obey by external pressure) and Jesus was talking about love (an internal exhortation to give our heart, soul and mind to another). One demands allegiance, the other requires personal commitment. In our families, we daily lay down our lives for each other, not because we gotta, but because love compels us. PRAY FOR VOCATIONS We pray this month especially for: Malachi Clark From SS. John & Andrew, Binghamton Theology II St. Mary s Seminary Please notify us if you have a family member who is homebound or in a Nursing Home. We want to be sure to add them to our flower delivery list and bulletin mailing list. Keeping in touch with our parishioners who can no longer attend Mass is important to us. Widows and Widowers Meeting The November meeting for the Widows and Widowers Group at Church of the Holy Family in Endwell will be November 9 at 1pm in Room 2. Our speaker will be Joe Titti, a professional genealogist and church historian. He will be discussing the early history of the Catholic Church. Refreshments will be served.
