Putano for information prior to the birth of the child. For adults, contact Fr. Charles for the RCIA process. Marriage Arrangements must be made at least six months in advance with Fr. Charles or Msgr. Putano. One of the parties must be registered in the parish. Hospitalized Please notify the parish office when a family member is in the hospital. Very often we do not receive this information. Anointing of the Sick If you are preparing to enter the hospital for any reason and would like to be anointed, please contact the parish offices. Low Gluten hosts are available for anyone who is gluten intolerant. Please stop in the sacristy before Mass to let us know. Bulletin available on either parish website.

If you think one of these might be for you, contact (315) BLESSING OF THE CHRISTMAS TREE The use of the Christmas tree is relatively modern. Its origins are found in the medieval mystery plays that depicted the tree of paradise and the Christmas light or candle that symbolized Christ, the Light of the world. According to custom, the Christmas tree is set up just before Christmas and may remain in place until the Solemnity of Epiphany. The lights of the tree are illuminated after the prayer of blessing. Leader: This tree is a blessing to our home. It reminds us of all that is beautiful. It is a tree of light, reminding us that we are to be a light to others. All pray together: God of all creation, we praise you for this tree which brings beauty, memories, and the promise of life to our home. May your blessings be upon all who gather around this tree, all who keep the Christmas festival by its lights. We wait for the coming of Christ, our God, living and reigning, forever and ever. Leader: Let us bless the Lord. All: Thanks be to God. Amen A Family Perspective Mary was excited about her first pregnancy and rushed to tell her cousin. Sadly children are often seen as a liability, another mouth to feed or an obstacle to my career. It is said Christmas is for children. It is more accurate to say Christmas is for adults to appreciate the gift of children! ST. CYRIL & METHOD CENSUS - If you have not filled out a census card in church, please stop by the office to do so. Census cards have been in the pews and are also located at the parking lot entrance of the church. It is very important that we have an accurate count of our parishioners.

The blessing of the manger scene traditionally takes place on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day. To bless the manger scene at home, a family member places the infant Jesus in the manger, then all pray together: God of Mary and Joseph, of shepherds and animals, bless us whenever we gaze on this manger scene. Through all the days of Christmas, may these figures tell the story of how humans, angels and animals found the Christ in this poor place. Fill our house with hospitality, joy, gentleness, and thanksgiving and guide our steps in the way of peace. Grant this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
