We are truly blessed by receiving this much needed piano. God is good! Linda Larson, Choral Director Cheryl Blum, Organist Dear Friends at Faith, We want to thank you all for your concerns, cards and most importantly your prayers over the last several months as we searched for a doctor to treat the rare cancer Shirley had. It was a journey in which we were surely guided by the Holy Spirit, for we ended up with a wonderful doctor who is recognized world-wide for her skills and expertise. We have just returned from a checkup with the doctor and she believes Shirley is now cancer free. We are so thankful for you, the Faith community, for the warm loving care and friendship we have experienced since we joined you not so long ago. And we are most grateful for your prayers and support, for you have truly been a blessing and a source of strength to us. Thank you and God bless you, Shirley & Stephen Gilbreath

7 Sunday School Happenings I want to extend a belated thank you to all the participants in the Sunday School Christmas program. They all did such a superb job from the directors to the speakers to the many angels and the singers. Well, done! ELCA has through their good gifts program made it possible for us to do some pretty astonishing things. Offerings from Sunday School have been more than generous. In the spring we had enough to buy 230 chicks to give to struggling families. In the fall we decided to buy a family farm. The farm consists of a cow, a couple of goats, ten chicks, two pigs, a duck, farming tools plus training and marketing support to the family. The goal is to help a family escape the cycle of hunger and poverty for good. Shazam! We have more than enough to buy the farm! Well done to all of us. So now to the next goal. We have decided to help a community construct and maintain a water well. The cost of this project is $2,500 which is likely beyond our resources. However, a share of the well is only $250! So that is our goal. Perhaps we could partner with another ch urch in this effort. In the meantime we are going to contribute to a share of the well. Did you know that: more than a billion people worldwide lack access to clean water; that water-borne illnesses from the lack of clean water and sanitation result in a loss of 272 million days of school attendance for children mostly in sub- Saharan Africa and South Asia; that a woman or child in sub-saharan Africa will walk and average of 3.7 miles every day to fetch clean water. Our funds come from Sunday morning offering as well as from the birthday pig. The pig has been well used to the point where it was showing signs of wear. A new pig has appeared to take the birthday money. We would be happy to accept your gift of a penny for each year of your life. Anyone could also share in this goal by designated giving in the regular church offering. After spending time learning the books of the Old Testament in song we are now beginning to learn a song of the books of the New Testament. This song is even trickier, I think. It is a good way to have more awareness of the books of the Bible and where they might be in the Bible. We are thrilled with those who come to Sunday School. It will be even more thrilling when more come. Dixie Duehn, Education Chair
