It brought together parishioners and visitors for a day of friendship and sharing. Elaine and I would like to extend our gratitude and thanks to everyone, parishioners as well as others, who assisted with the preparation prior to, working on the day of and/or cleaning up after the Bazaar. The Bazaar has always been a major fund raiser for the Parish and it will continue to be as a result of your continued support. A complete financial report will be provided as soon as all the information is available. Again, thank you all. God Bless Elaine and Marilyn
3 33RD SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME NOVEMBER 18, 2018 A Note from Fr. Tom In our first reading this weekend the widow shares with the prophet from her want. It is not an impressive amount or the glamour of what she offers, but the offer itself. I don t think there is a more lovingly prepared parish bazaar in Worcester County than was held here at St. Peter s last weekend! While there were indeed some very impressive items on the several raffle tables, this experience seems to me to be one of genuine community. People return to be with us each year because of that spirit, for the chance to peruse all items on offer, and for the chance to enjoy a lunch worth many more times the price! Walking the length and breadth of the hall that day was truly rewarding and inspiring! March for Life Washington, DC Please join us for the Diocese of Worcester s bus trip to the 46th annual March for Life in Washington, DC. Buses will leave on Thursday January 17th after the 7:30pm Mass at St. Paul s Cathedral, travel to Washington for the march for life on January 18th, followed by the return trip to Worcester. Cost is $80.00 per seat for registrations postmarked by December 31st and $95.00 thereafter. For more information, and to download registration forms, visit Can t make it this year but want to help? Consider making a donation that will help defray expenses for our students who want to attend but might otherwise find it difficult to do so. Thank you. Thank you to all those who gave their time to help with the success of our annual Holiday Bazaar The other walk that stays with me from last weekend was that taken by parishioners and other invited guests at the 11:00am Mass of Remembrance. As the names of those who had died during the last year were read, a person or, in some cases, an entire family took the walk from where they were sitting in church to come forward and receive a beautiful red rose in memory of their loved one. For some, the loss and their grief are more recent. The giving and receiving a rose wouldn t arouse much acclaim or curiosity in many circles. In this moment last week, however, it signified our commitment to continue to hold in prayer those who have fallen asleep in death. It is our proclamation that while we were gathered together because our loved ones died, we do so precisely because Christ lives, raised in glory to be the Firstborn among them called to new life. And those who made that walk forward trusted us with their grief and shared with us their faith. I wish to express my gratitude to everyone who brought these grace-filled occasions to life! Given the nature of the week and the events of the weekend, there was a lot of setting up and taking down to accommodate our needs as a parish! Thank you to everyone who sacrificed much for the sake of all at St. Peter s. Fr. This week we will be having a Thanksgiving social. Kids should arrive at the hall at the usual 6pm time. Our Chef of the week is the core team Edge: Our edge night this past week was called Navigating the Terrain. We had a great game at the beginning of the night and continued our night in the church. We talked about the different parts of the church that are part of the liturgy. Thank you to all our parents for following the new pick up procedure this past week. It will get smoother as we get more used to it. Also, thank you to Carrie, Cynthia, Melanie, Victoria, and GloryAnn for all your help with the game and throughout the night. We really appreciated having you there and we hope you enjoyed it. Lastly thank you to our Mass ministers who were part of the liturgy this past Sunday. You all did a great job once again. Loreto: During the December gathering day, the children will be heading over to the Rockdale House for our 2nd Annual Christmas celebration with the residents. The children will hear the Nativity story, sing carols and make a craft. We will wrap up our morning with juice and cookies! We are excited to have been invite back again and for the children to experience the true spirit of Christmas. Christmas Pageant: It s that time of year again! We are starting to prepare for the annual Pageant. If your child/children would like to be part of this wonderful tradition, we have parts available!
