Invitation to Small Christian Communities ~ You are invited to join our Small Christian Communities offered on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 7:00 pm. If you can spare any room in your garage or basement to store items until our garage sale next May please call the parish office at Knights of Columbus Scholarship ~ The St. Philip Neri Knights of Columbus Council #9539 is offering a $500 post high school scholarship to a child/grandchild of a Knight. Applications can be obtained from the parish office. Though priority for the scholarship will be given to a child/grandchild of a knight (especially from Council #9539), all applications will be considered. FALCON PARK PLAYGROUND AND PARK ENHANCEMENT: OUR PARK, OUR COMMUNITY, OUR FUTURE ~ This October 26, children and adults will be able to enjoy their new play structure and park on the grounds of St. Philip School and Church! We have talked about it for many years and finally this is the year it is going to happen! We have been chosen to receive a 2013 National Award from the Let Them Be Kids Foundation. The award is a 50/50 matching grant. For every $1 we raise, it will give us $2 in purchasing power toward safe playground equipment. Your donation is worth double! The children in the community have voted on what type of play structure they want and we are finalizing the plans. We are already 50% of the way to our goal! 3 More Parish News Stewardship Note! This weekend is Stewardship Weekend. Please think about how you can contribute to our parish with your time and talent. We need your help to keep our important ministries going. The main focus is to discern which ministries you would like to try to joyfully build up the church. Please drop off your completed forms in the office by Monday, September 30. Training sessions and schedules will be available in November and the new schedules will begin in Advent. Reconciliation ~ There are four preparation sessions for those age 7 and up who are interested in preparing for their First Reconciliation. The first class is on Tuesday, October 29 beginning at 6:45 in the evening. Registration forms are available on the website and welcome area. Registration begins on Monday, September 16. Just a reminder, preparation for Confirmation and First Communion is in spring Sacraments ~ For all sacramental inquiries and also RCIA and RCIC, please contact Shirley at the parish. Chocolate Retreat ~ All women are invited to a "Cafe Chocolate"! When - Friday evening, October 25, 7:00 to 8:30 pm. and Saturday, October 26, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Please register with Shirley. The diocesan consultation structure has three levels: the parish, the deanery and the diocese. There are seven deaneries in the diocese.
