3 Parish News THANK YOU ~ to all who supported the Fair Trade Sale last weekend. We raised over $600 for the Refugee Fund! That s awesome! Keep Christ in Christmas Magnets ~ Help the Knights of Columbus pass the message by buying a magnet and displaying it on your vehicle or front door if it is steel. Window decals are also for sale. The K of C will be selling them at all the weekend Masses until December 2. Some are also available at the parish office. Christmas Hamper Sign Up is Next Weekend! Once again we are assisting St. Mary s Parish with their Christmas Hamper Campaign. We committed to filling 44 hampers. The delivery date is Saturday, December 22. If you would like to fill a hamper please sign up in the Welcome Area next weekend and pick up an info sheet! Confirmation/First Communion ~ Preparation classes begin in March 2013 and the Celebration for both of these sacraments is tentatively set for the beginning of May. All dates will be confirmed before the end of December. Stewardship Note! The new information packages are available in the welcome area. Please be sure to pick yours up soon. Children's Liturgy of the Word ~ Beginning the first weekend of Advent, the children will be invited to also contribute their offerings which will be donated to the Crisis Nursery. This is a new initiative at the parish. A few more adults have offered to assist with Children's Liturgy but there is still room for more as the parish must comply with the requirements of diocesan policy concerning vulnerable people. Please consider helping once per month. Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults ~ The Rite of Acceptance will be during the 5:00 Mass on Saturday, December 8. Marriage Preparation Course ~ Those who are planning to be married must complete a marriage preparation course before their wedding celebration. Prison Fellowship Christmas Program (Angel Tree) This program reaches out to the families of inmates through churches like St. Philip Neri to purchase, wrap, and deliver a $30 gift to an inmate s child (on behalf of the inmate). 6 Message Board Brazil Mission Notes - Sr. Claire Novecosky, OSU, writes from Maceió: The annual pastoral assembly of the archdiocese was held Nov Participants studied and reflected on the theme: Brothers and sisters in the faith, in view of World Youth Day to be held in Rio de Janeiro in July 2013, want to build a praying, missionary and Samaritan (charitable) Church. This Assembly was a time to organize, analyze and propose new pastoral norms so that the Church of Jesus Christ in Maceió will be fruitful in its mission of evangelization.
