3 Parish News Stewardship Note! Thank you to all who signed up for ministries at all of our Christmas season liturgies. It is definitely a busy time of the year. The parish community always comes to pray and support the liturgies in a welcoming way! God bless! Marriage Preparation Course ~ There are many couples interested in the marriage preparation process beginning at 1:00 pm on Sunday, February 3. There is more information available in the welcome area. Please call Shirley to register. If you, as a couple, are interested in becoming support couples for those registered, please contact Shirley for more information. Sacraments of Confirmation/First Communion ~ Registration information will be available early in the new year. Also, please check out our website for up to date information. Baptisms ~ The preparation sessions are on Tuesday evenings, January 29 and February 5. Parents need to pre-register. Godparents and grandparents are invited to participate, too. The celebration of Baptisms are during the Masses the weekend of February 9 and 10. After Easter, there will be another set of classes and more information will be available in the new year. Children's Liturgy ~ will begin again on January 13. Just a reminder, there must always be an adult scheduled to be in the room but they do not need to be a facilitator but just present as an assistant. If you are interested, please contact Shirley. Communion to the Sick ~ This is such a valuable ministry that is part of the parish community. There has been increased interest in people who are willing to serve in this ministry but there is always room for more since two people need to be present for the visits. Every week there are people who are not able to get to church to celebrate Mass but it is important for them to be included in receiving the Blessed Sacrament. If you know of someone who would like communion brought to them, please contact Shirley. THANK YOU To everyone who prepared and delivered Christmas hampers. You have helped make someone s Christmas very special with your generosity and Christmas spirit! New Year s Day Bishop s Levee ~ The annual Bishop s Levee reception will be held from 2-4 pm, Tuesday, January 1 at the Cathedral of the Holy Family. Everyone is welcome to join Bishop Don Bolen for this come-and-go New Year s Day event. (It is not necessary to RSVP.) Greater Saskatoon Catholic Schools: International Student Program ~ is in need of homestays for the upcoming school year. Most students are in grades 9-12 from many different countries. Host families are reimbursed $700/month. Date: Signature: St. Stephen Feast day on December 26 Stephen was the first disciple of Jesus to be martyred. The saint spoke about Jesus being the Savior God had promised to send. He scolded his enemies for not believing in Jesus. At that, they rose up in great anger and they dragged Stephen outside the city of Jerusalem and stoned him to death. The saint prayed, "Lord Jesus, receive my spirit!" Then he fell to his knees and begged God not to punish his enemies for killing him. Catholicism video series - St. Paul co-cathedral parish in Saskatoon presents a beautiful new video series about our awesome God and his beautiful Church. Fr. The Roman Catholic Diocese of Saskatoon has gathered together facilitators who will provide support, hope, healing and empowerment through a six-week program named From Mourning to Dawn. This course is open to participants who have been widows/widowers between two months and two years.
