I ask that every family please sell their tickets or buy them. We should not have any unsold tickets be returned. Let s all do our part to make this festival successful. Reflection of the Gospel In Today s gospel, The Canaanite woman had to face all kinds of obstacles in order to obtain a cure for her daughter. She had to overcome her pride in order to beg. As a Gentile, she knew she wasn t welcome among the Jews. She had to overcome the apparent indifference of Jesus, then a put-down and a rejection. But she was not put off. Why not? Because she wasn t seeking something for herself. Unselfishness enables us to put up with almost anything. It enables us to transcend ourselves. Remember In Prayer. Prayer for the New School Year By: Joey Gutierrez Lord our God, help us to learn from our school supplies this year. May the new year be like a clean piece of note book paper with endless possibilities ahead. May we be like that new pencil, and mark the future with change and growth. May we never forget that you are the eraser that we can call on when we make a mistake. Let us be like a folder, that can hold the knowledge of the past, present and future. Bless the teachers that are like a backpack that hold it all together and the students that are like supply boxes ready to be filled with good things that will last. Amen.
