Many living in Indiana have connections to family and friends in regions of Florida and other southern states that have been most heavily damaged by record-setting winds, rains and storm surge. As thousands go without power and await a time to rebuild, we need not hesitate in our prayers or our generosity. Let us continue our long-standing tradition of support for UMCOR, Red Cross, and volunteer response. And I invite you to lead times of prayer in your homes and churches, as well as, financially support disaster response through your local church. We grieve with those who grieve and give thanks for those who respond. Lord, in this time, make us instruments of your Love! Bishop Julius C. Please note color choices are subject to change when they are picked up. The deadline will be December 2 nd and the plants will be in the sanctuary December 17 th. As always, the plants are yours to take home. Broadway Christian Parish Jubilee Christmas Store Broadway Christian Parish 1412 S Carroll St, South Bend, IN (574) broadwayum@sbcglobal.net broadwaychristianparish.org Dear Friends, It s that time again; time to start thinking about this year s Christmas Jubilee Store. The Jubilee Store shopping event will be held on Saturday, December 15 th at Broadway Christian Parish United Methodist Church in South Bend, from 9 AM until 6 PM. The Christmas Store includes a shopping room for parents/caregivers to select and wrap free gifts for their children. Families are served without regards to church membership or religious affiliation. Each year about 350 children, age birth to 17 years, receive gifts. Families are also given a food basket for Christmas dinner. We invite you to volunteer your time helping with set up, shopping with the parents, gift wrapping, greetings, or any of the other tasks which help make the Christmas Jubilee shopping day go smoothly and joyfully for everyone. Volunteers are needed: Saturday, December 15 th beginning at 8 AM. We are asking volunteers to commit to two-hour blocks of time or more. Please let us know when you and/or your group plan to be here. Our contact information is above. Please consider donating new toys (see the following list) or funds. At least $5000 is needed for Christmas dinner supplies for the 150 families as well as purchasing additional toys to supplement those donated for the 350+ children we serve. Financial donations may be mailed to the church or you may visit the donation box on our webpage for credit card options. If you would like to bring toys or other donations, please come to Broadway after 11 AM, if possible. You may contact the church office Monday Thursday 9 AM - 1 PM.
