Clairnel has bragged on Peace UCC to me for years, and now I know why! Thank you for your kind and gracious welcome. I am pleased to be able to serve you on a part-time basis at the beginning of this time of transition, this "in-between time" in your life as a faith community. During these summer months, I will be preaching and preparing the worship bulletin and will provide pastoral visits to those who are hospitalized and to shut ins. Rev. Dale Parson and the church Council will be searching for an interim minister who can devote full-time hours to the church during the search process. This "in-between" time will undoubtedly give rise to some anxiety and to a desire to "get someone in here right away." This will not happen---and that is a good thing. The search process is not like filling an employment position in the business or professional world. It begins with a period of reflection and prayer by the congregation as a whole and most particularly by the search committee that the Council will appoint. It involves much conversation and much prayer about how God has led Peace church to this point in time and where God is leading Peace into the future. It will require prayerful listening both to God and to each other, acknowledging even celebrating differences among you. Through the work of the Holy Spirit you will then reach consensus on this community's priorities and expectations for spiritual leadership. Only then will you begin receiving profiles from potential candidates. Then a whole new phase of listening and discernment will begin. Remember, the search process is like baseball---it takes as long as it takes. Or, if you are not fond of sports metaphors, think of it as a time of gestation. The Holy Spirit is at work among you to bring a new spiritual chapter of your life into being. I encourage you to embrace the search process and support the Search Committee with your prayers, your confidence and your encouragement. Blessings on the journey, Rev. Collette

Hammers are needed for crafts, please let Robyn know if you are able to lend a hammer (please label your hammer with your name). Please let Robyn know if you are able to volunteer! Search Committee The Search Committee will be forming this fall. The Council will be selecting a Search Committee and is compiling a list of potential members. Please be prayerful and consider submitting your name for possible service and let Brad Belew or any council member know. 3 Christmas In July With Every Child s Hope We will be collecting items for the ECH Christmas Store Throughout July. The Christmas Store at ECH is a major shopping stop for the kids at ECH. Gifts that the youngsters choose are generously donated by United Church of Christ congregations. Because you choose to give, so, in turn, can the children.
