1 JULY 2018 The Newsletter of Calvary United Methodist Church, York, PA Calvary News is published by and for members and friends of the congregation. Matthew 5:1-12 (NRSV) The Beatitudes 5 When Jesus [a] saw the crowds, he went up the mountain; and after he sat down, his disciples came to him. 2 Then he began to speak, and taught them, saying: 3 Blessed are the We are so blessed. We are blessed in the midst of adversity. We are blessed in the midst of glorious days. We are blessed when we are down and when we are encouraged. As we look at this sermon this month, we see the many ways in which God sees us as blessed. Our difficult situations cannot take away our blessings. Our blessings are based on our faith, perspective, and our attitude. Human circumstances cannot remove what God has done in our lives. We will face challenges; in the midst of those challenges remain the blessings of God. Let us encourage one another and build each other up in the faith. Living God s Blessings, Pastor Mike
