Today, we hear John 10:11-18: Christ the shepherd. All three years of the lectionary celebrate the image of the shepherd. On Sunday, May 6, we will celebrate music in the church. We will take the opportunity to thank all who make music in the congregation in the form of festive music and specific prayers. On Sunday, May 20, we celebrate the Day of Pentecost and Affirmation of Baptism for five youth: Adeline Gerz Egan Granholm Quinn Granholm NaKayla Knight Caylee Sheaffer On this day, there will be ONE service at 9:30 am.

2 S S The Adult Sunday School class continues its series on the general topic of health, illness, and faith. April 22 nd DVD: Confronting Death; A Christian Approach to the End of Life: and Discussion May 6 th Caring for a loved one with Alzheimers; And Discussion May 13 th General Discussion or Other Selected Topic M M By joining choir, you will take part in an exciting variety of music, fun, and fellowship. More great music by the great composers will round out the singing schedule. The choirs will sing through Pentecost Sunday, May 20. 3 N Y G This year, two Christ Church Youth members, Adeline Gerz and Ben Thornsberry, will a end the ELCA Youth Gathering from June 27 - July 1. More than 30,000 high school youth a end the gathering every three years and take part in interactive learning, worship, Bible study, service and fellowship. The youth are inspired to grow in faith and are challenged to live their faith in their daily lives. The theme for this year s gathering, This Changes Everything, is based on Ephesians 2:8, By grace you have been saved C E Our Director of Youth, Education, and Family Ministries, Terry Hoover, recently completed classes in Congregational Faith Formation at the United Lutheran Seminary at Ge ysburg. Terry began classes, once a month, in September She received her certificate in Congregational Faith Formation on April 13, Congratulations to Terry! C C Please join the Catechetics Class for our 4 th Annual Open House, Sunday, May 13 th, 9:30 10:30, in room 27 on the Second Floor of the Education Building. You will see what we have been learning, sample delicious treats, and find out about future plans! 3

4 C M Community Meals are on the fourth Sunday of most months and begin at 12:00 pm in the Parish Hall. Visit the church s website, to sign-up to help! Contributions can be made by using the small manila envelopes in the pews, by writing your name, envelope number, checking the Special Offering, and writing Community Meal in the lines below. Contributions will be added to your annual giving record. Donations of clothing, books, and/or other miscellaneous items may be dropped off in the Parish Hall room near the outside doors. The room is unlocked and accessible to leave items. If items are brought in, please do not leave cardboard boxes. G G C Continue to support our youth by buying Grocery Gift cards to Giant and/or Weis. With each gift card purchase, the youth ministry receives 5% from the purchase. Call or stop by the church office. I -G F The ingathering of non-perishable food items for the pantry at St. Paul s is collected each Sunday. Place your items for donation in the box located in the upper or lower narthex hallway. A F The altar flowers are given to the Glory of God and in loving memory of my father, 1st Lt. Kenneth E. Lecrone, and my grandfather, Herman Z. She er, by Lynne Lecrone. The second set of flowers is given to the Glory of God and in loving memory of my best friend for 83 years, Janet B.
