Reflection on Our Cover A life of holiness is patterned after the holiness of God. It requires integrity, honesty, and faithfulness. To be holy as God is holy, we must refrain from nursing hatred in our hearts; we must rebuke wrongdoers or we will share their guilt; we must not entertain vengeance; and we must love others as we love ourselves. These very demanding directives give us a glimpse into the holiness of God. Furthermore, they are all communal in nature. In other words, our likeness to God is determined by the way we relate to others. We pray to God to continue to pour the Holy Spirit into our hearts so that we can love with God s own love, when our own ability to love fails us. 4 Dear Friends at St. Veronica, SCHOOL ADVISORY BOARD After much reflection and consultations with the Archdiocese, I am glad to announce to you the members of the School Advisory Board: Ivan Sequeira, Lori Cadigan, (both current school parents) Patrick Lucy, (alumnus and Youth Ministry Coordinator) and Steve Farren, (former alum parent). With the Pastor, Principal, and a rotating faculty member, the Board will consist of seven members at present I thank Ivan, Lori, Patrick, and Steve for accepting my invitation to serve on this board. They will advise Mrs. Lucchesi and me as we move forward toward greater excellence in various aspects of the school life. They will also help us toward integrating the school as part of the parish ministry. Their role will be purely advisory. We will meet five times a year (every other month) with the summer months off. For the next academic year , we will be seeking nominations in the Fall for two more candidates from school parents to be on this board. After interviews, they will be appointed to the board. Those applying need to possess qualifications listed below: Registered members of St. Veronica parish. Involved in the events/activities of the school. Active in the faith and liturgical life of the parish. Supportive of the parish ministries through their time, talent, and treasure. A record of positive and harmonious collaboration with the Principal and Pastor. A clear understanding of their advisory role. A clear vision of the school as part of the parish ministry.
