7 PRAYERS THE WORLD NEW ZEALAND The eyes of the world are on New Zealand in the aftermath of the horrific terrorist attack on two mosques in Christchurch last week, in which 50 innocent people were killed. We pray for the families of the victims, and for all New Zealanders, as the nation responds to this tragedy. We pray that hate and revenge will have no place in the response of the community to this terrible event. May Christians be moved to pray for their Muslim neighbours and seek to show them the love of Jesus. May God draw many people to himself through the love of Christian believers, that they might come to know his forgiving love in the gospel of his Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. MISSION PARTNERS OMF SINGAPORE and OMF INTERNATIONAL Give thanks for the appointment of Ms Susan Kaur as the new National Director of OMF Singapore. Pray for Susan as she takes up her new responsibilities, and for all who serve alongside her in the National Office. Praise God for the Orientation Course for new OMF workers. Thank him for sustaining Brian and Laureen Powell (Course Co-ordinators) through a busy time. Pray for the 20 new workers and 4 children now on location in the region. Pray as they learn a new language and adjust to a new culture. Pray for good preparation for the next two Orientation Courses (May and July). Pray for some Korean speakers to help with KidZone (children s program). SINGAPORE DIOCESE Pray for all churches in the Diocese as we prepare for Celebration of Hope. Pray that Christians will take up this opportunity to invite a non-christian friend along to one of the meetings to hear the gospel clearly explained. Continue to pray for Bishop Rennis as he cares for his mother, who is ill in hospital. Pray for a full and speedy recovery. SINGAPORE Pray for integrity, vision and strength for all who lead our nation, including our President Mdm Halimah Yacob and our PM Mr Lee Hsien Loong. ST GEORGE S CHURCH FAMILY Pray for the upcoming personal evangelism, which is part of Celebration of Hope (COH). May this training help more people to be confident in sharing the good news of Jesus with others. Give thanks for the opportunity to stage the Mark Drama in St George s. Pray for the preparations and for all those taking part in the planning and production. Pray for needed volunteers who can be present to meet and mingle with parents who attend Mums and Tots with their children. Pray for Bishop Rennis and the St George s selection team as they continue the search for the next Vicar of our Church. Pray for those in our extended Church family who continue to suffer from serious illnesses including Jenna Howe, Janet Tan, Peter Stead, Kah Seng, Liza Lacno and Caitlin Jong. May they know the peace and power of God s love. Now to him who is able to do above and beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in you; to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. 10 ANNOUNCEMENTS DIOCESE ANGLICAN MISSIONS As part of the Year of Proclamation, Anglican missions is also increasing momentum in engaging the Anglican Communities to support and strengthen the work in our Deaneries. We would like to invite volunteers to join us on a Community Development Mission to Vientiane Laos. We are partnering with ARDA Laos and HOPE for children's engagement and equipping the staff to be able to conduct learning activities more effectively. We are looking for musicians and singers to join us but particularly interested in talking to you if you re a drummer. Even if you are less experienced but willing to try and have a little coaching, please do think about serving our community in this way. If you re interested please make yourself known to one of the musicians in the band on any Sunday morning after the service so that we can have a chat. Early Bird $55, Standard $70, One Day: $35 Group Church Discount: $45 To register, see website FELLOWSHIP PRAYER OPPORTUNITIES IN SCHOOLS Did you know that some of the schools in Singapore have groups of parents who pray regularly for the children and staff? Until very recently, I didn't either! Wouldn't it be great if there was a list of people at different schools, from different churches, so parents and friends could connect and pray together for their schools? Do you know of a prayer group at your school? Would you like to? I have joined the prayer group for Dulwich parents (that's where my girls go), and I have met with parents from Tanglin and United World College, all of whom would love to meet other parents to pray (and perhaps have coffee too!) And I am convinced there are many more groups that we don't know about. The aim then, is produce and publish a list of contacts from different schools, that can be shared with parents through churches. We are hoping to send out a first draft of a list in the next couple of weeks. If you already know of a prayer group at your child's school, then please do ask if they would like to share their information, and let us know so we can add them to the list. In this eight-session video group study, we will explore the ideas that C.S. Lewis wrote about in Mere Christianity. The study explains in an engaging, winsome and non-threatening way the basic tenets of the Christian faith as illustrated by C.S. Lewis and aims to fulfil his vision of reaching people from all faith backgrounds. The Monday Morning Group will begin this new study on 8 th April.
