7 God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one Being with the Father; through him all things were made. For us and for our salvation he came down from heaven, was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the virgin Mary and became truly human. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate; he suffered death and was buried. On the third day he rose again in accordance with the scriptures; he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end. We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son,* who with the Father and the Son is worshiped and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets. We pray for desert places where there is no rain and for restoration of polluted rivers and oceans. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer. 7

8 P Flood our world with a desire for peace. Where people are oppressed, bring justice. Where there is terror, bring safety. Stir up compassion among leaders and citizens so that every person is treated with dignity, kindness, and love. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer. Your heart aches with those who are in pain. Tend to those who are hungry, lonely, lost, and those in any need (especially). Hear their cries and spur us to respond as your hands and heart in the world. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer. Bless ministers, musicians, teachers, visionaries, council members, committees, and all those who strive to lead this congregation faithfully into the future. Ground their work in scripture and prayer and fuel it with your great imagination. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer. Here other intercessions may be offered. Remember your covenant with us, and keep us faithful to you until we join with all the saints and angels around your heavenly throne. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer. Preface It is indeed right, our duty and our joy, that we should at all times and in all places give thanks and praise to you, almighty and merciful God, through our Savior Jesus hrist. You call your people to cleanse their hearts and prepare with joy for the paschal feast, that, renewed in the gift of baptism, we may come to the fullness of your grace. nd so, with all the choirs of angels, with the church on earth and the hosts of heaven, we praise your name and join their unending hymn: 9

12 gnus Dei The ommunion Distribution - Intinction at altar by continuous tables. ll baptized hristians who believe hrist is truly present in the bread and wine of the Sacrament of Holy ommunion are welcome at hrist s table at Shepherd of the Desert. Please follow the directions of the ushers as you come forward to the altar rail by the center aisle. You may kneel if you are able. In the Lutheran tradition and practice, you may receive both elements in one kind. If you desire to receive only one, please indicate this to the minister who is serving you. Once you have received the elements, you then may return to your seat by the side aisles. You may also share your offerings as you come forward for Holy ommunion. The Hunger Jar is also available.
