(PHILIPPIANS 4:6) St. Paul reminds us that our God is an abundant God, the ultimate giver of gifts. He promises to give us all that we need. When we trust that God will take care of us, it is easier for us to share what we have been given. EPIPHANY BINGO - As a result of the dedicated work of all the Bingo volunteers and the tremendous support of our players, distributions to local charitable organizations, Epiphany Outreach, and the catholic school capital campaign will exceed $60,000 for the year in But the year isn t over yet. We invite all parishioners and friends to come join us for a Bingo night. Bingo night at Epiphany will continue this year through Friday, November 16 th. As always MAXIMUM CASH PRIZES of $2500, allowed by state law, are given away at EVERY FRIDAY NIGHT BINGO. This includes a $750 final game jackpot prize each night. The bingo window and concessions open at 7:00pm and the games begin at 7:30pm with 4 earlybird games and 8:00 for the regular games. Due to large a number of recent relocations and retirements, the Bingo volunteer group has a very serious need for more volunteer members on each team, including for the concession area. The time obligation is only about once every 4 weeks. This is a great opportunity to make new friends and help us continue this ministry. 9 Outreach Ministry Bereavement Support Epiphany Catholic Community sponsors grief support groups to help individuals as they grieve the death of a loved one. Led by facilitators who themselves have experienced a previous loss, the groups help and provide support and fellowship. Thank you to our wonderful volunteers and parishioners for making Christmas brighter for 110 families, especially our Coordinator, Sue Rando! Without all of your donations of time, talent, and treasures, this would not have been possible to make Christmas special for these 317 children. You made Christmas special and brought great joy because these children will be getting gifts they wanted. God Bless You!! Thank you parishioners During this holiday season were able to provide 32 food baskets for parishioners at Thanksgiving and Christmas. We helped clothed, blankets and feed over 1,200 people on Thanksgiving day. We were able to send eight of our service men care packages for the holidays and many others letters. This could not have been done without you! Have a safe and joyous Christmas. 10 Adult Faith Formation Epiphany Youth Ministry New Year - New You! Monday Night Adult Formation begins on January 28, This eight session DVD-based Ascension Press Bible Study is held from 7:00-8:30 p.m. in the PAC. Deadline to register is January 14. Discover how God s great love for us can transform our daily lives - if we allow it. REJOICE! Today has traditionally been called Gaudete Sunday. The Latin tag is derived from Paul s appeal in the second reading to rejoice always in the Lord, and the Latin Mass text based on that reading. The irony and paradox of this Christian joy is underlined by the fact that Paul wrote those words in prison. But from there he could see the progress of God s work. Is it obvious to us? We feel that this is not the time for joy when there is so much suffering and moral evil. It is interesting, then, that the first reading is from the prophet Zephaniah, who is almost exclusively concerned with gloomy visions of Judgment Day. Today the Church selects the only optimistic text in Zephaniah, in which the prophet has been touched by the spirit of joy. This, we are assured on all sides, is the season of joy.
