1 23 June 2013 May you find this service of music and words refreshing to your soul; and in this place of worship may you find the time and the space to connect with God. Wesley Faith Community: a place to bel.ong Kia Ora. Malo e lelei. Bula Vinaka. Talofa lava. Kia Orana. Namaste. Guten Morgen. Huro. Goeiemore. Greetings. A warm welcome on this mid-winter Sunday! Whatever the weather is doing outside, we are glad you braved the elements to be part of worship at Wesley today. A special welcome to Viliame Naliva as he leads our service this morning. Viliame is the Steward of the Fijian congregation and those who were at Table Talk last Sunday were privileged to hear some of his story. The Term 2 Wesley Kidz and Youth programme continues after time in church. our Reader: ValdaBenfell Prayers: Roger Hey KIDZ TALK If it seems as if the evenings are longand gloomyand the sun is taking a long time to wake up, you'd be right! We have just passed the shortest day. It's not so hard to understand why the church celebrated Christmas in the middle of winter: candles to brighten the long nights, hot food and treats in the company of family and friends all remind us of God's light, warmth and love.

3 OUT AND ABOUT This morning Margaret Birtles and Edna Evans are attending the commissioning of probationer deacon Ruta Galo to the Mangere-Otahuhu parish. Ruta is a primary school teacher whose Covenant will be to support at-risk children and their families where needed. Ruta is a Tongan woman in an English speaking parish - we will bring the greetings of Tauranga Parish to the occasion. COMMUNITY CONCERNS Dear Congregation, Each month we give three large food parcels to Relationships Aotearoa to share with needy families. At present our food stores are low in the following items: 400g tins of soup, 400g tins of corn, jam, rice, toilet paper, biscuits both plain and sweet, Milo and instant coffee. If you can help to restock our shelves, it would be greatly appreciated. Community Concerns Committee. Waikato-Waiariki Methodist Synod will be meeting at Wesley on Friday 19 and Saturday 20 July. Some people attending from out of town may be requiring accommodation for Friday night (9pm to Saturday 8.30am). If anyone from the congregation feels able to offer a bed and breakfast, please contact Viv on Our Growing Through Grief committee is looking for new members. As we have such a wonderful relationship with Wesley, we wonder if there is someone there who may like to join us and further strengthen our relationship. We meet once a month, every second Thursday of the month for about 1 t hours in the afternoon.

Song For Marion A wonderfullyheart-warmingstory of a lovingmarriage between grumpypensioner Arthur (Terence Stamp) and the ever-cheerful Marion (Vanessa Redgrave). Cantankerous but doting husband Arthur does not share his wife Marion's passion for performing. While she is happy to sing her heart out with the unconventional local choir, Arthur would prefer to hide himself away and complainabout howembarrassing it all is. But whenheartbreak strikes, Arthur is forced to re-think his outlook on life. With the steady perseverance of choir director Elizabeth (Gemma Arterton), Arthur begins to find a way to come out of his shell and in the process forms a touching relationship with Elizabeth as well as a desire to build bridges with his estranged son James (Christopher Eccleston). If anyone is interested I can supply tickets and drop off at the Wesley office My contact number is Charlotte Van Lith / / Coordinator

Please join us for morning tea after the service School news. Support for reading at Brookfield school started this week, after a meeting with the group that is providing this service- thanks to Ngaire Bennywho came along with me. I went along on the first day - Wednesday, and as there wasn't time to advertise it widely, it wasn't expected to be very busy, but we were surprised to have about 10 children turn up with their reading books. Obviously its going to be a popular service, which I am pleased to be part of. FOR THE MEN :-Did you knowthis is Men's health month, so a reminder to you menout there -and your mates, if you haven't had a medical check-up recently it is a good idea to see your GP- at least Annually. thanks St Stephen's Roster for 30 June 2013 Preacher Neville Harris Steward I.
