And as plants take root deep within nourishing soils, So are we invited to find our lives in the very heart of God. Friends, be strengthened and encouraged. Let us open ourselves to the God who delights in our growth as people of wisdom, spirit and compassion. Next Sunday June 17th our service will be lead by our United Church Women (UCW), Pat Edmonds will be our guest speaker. Karen will be away at More than Franchises a conference put on by the United Church, she will be back in the office on Tuesday. Bible Study is Wednesday mornings from 11:30am to 1pm. We are studying Genesis and will be going till the end of June. Everyone welcome! On the last Wednesday of June 27 th we will meet early at 10am. Everyone is asked to bring a brown bag lunch and we ll have lunch together too. Sunday school Summer Volunteers Needed: Get to know our St. Paul's young people by volunteering in Sunday school this summer! We need volunteers to cover the months of July and August. Saturday, June 16, 2012 from 9:00 am 2:00 pm St. John s Anglican Church, 3191 Penetanguishene Rd, Craighurst. (Hwy 93 & Horseshoe Valley Road) Join family, friends and the community for a day of food and fun while raising money for the church and charities that help those in need. Don t forget to buy/bid on a gift for Dad for Father s Day when you re here! Concert on Friday June 22 nd - Danielle Aaron and Lindsay Traichevish present Taking a Ride on Broadway! A benefit concert to help purchase a van for the Winnipeg Inner City Mission on Friday, June 22 at 7pm at St. Paul s. The concert features Broadway tunes from Wicked, Phantom

4 of the Opera, Chicago and more, plus a piano duet. A free will offering will be taken up to help purchase a van to take children to and from the mission in Winnipeg. See poster for more information. Order of the Eastern Star is having a Strawberry Social on Friday June 29 th at 11:30am to? at St. Paul s in the gym. The cost is $5.00 and includes homemade biscuits, fresh strawberries, traditional whipped cream and coffee/tea. Proceeds to local food bank. See poster for more information. July 6th (Friday) - Sinfonia Toronto July 13th (Friday) - Thompson and French July 15th (Sunday) - Buzz Brass at Cultural Centre 2pm matinee July 20th (Friday) - David Jalbert July 22nd (Sunday) - Wolak and Donnelly- at Cultural Centre 2pm July 27th (Friday) - Bax and Chung July 29 (Sunday) Vesuvius- at Cultural Centre 2pm August 3rd (Friday) - Zodiac Trio August 6th (Monday) - Anton Kuerti and the Afiara String Quartet 2pm St. Paul s August 10th (Friday) - The Cecilia String Quartet 4 Th Midland Scouts has set their jamboree fund at $650 per participant, so knowing this will help us budget a little better. -Our spaghetti dinner brought us in $1119 profit -From our spring dance in May we made $3228 profit -We held a garage sale this Saturday and made $450 profit -On Wed June 6th the leaders will have a planning meeting and start fine tuning some of the plans -On June 17th we are cooking breakfast for the Geo-caching Convention being held here in Midland -On June 23rd we have a car wash being held at Canadian Tire from 9:30 a.m. until 3:00 pm -We still have our scrap bin. -Still have 22 youth (20 m, 2 f) attending plus 6 leaders which is required from Scouts Canada Our goal is $50,000 and we are officially over the half way mark - Yahoo! Cubs have finished for the year and Scouts are continuing on for the next two weeks. As far as fund raising goes, we decide that we would take a little break over the summer holidays as we are getting a little worn, but will be back at in September. Our heartfelt thanks to the congregation of St. Paul's United Church as you have been a key player in allowing us to reach this point. 5 Prayer Matters: We are no longer posting the prayer requests in the bulletin, but each week we are sending a list of people that prayer requests have come in for to people in our church who have volunteered to keep these people in their prayers. If you have a prayer request, write it on the pieces of paper provided at the entrance area s to the sanctuary where our greeters are and put in the vessel on the back window provided for this. Camp Simpresca: St. Paul s has funds to contribute to sending children from our church to camp. Contact the church office for more information Would you like to help sponsor a child to camp, we help children and youth in our church and in the community. If you wish to donate to this program and become A Friend of Camp Simpresca you can simply put the money in an envelope with your envelope # or name on it and write Camp Simpresca on it and we will see that it goes toward sponsoring a child in the community to experience summer camp. Thank You! Camp Simpresca - Open house is on June pm. Meet the staff; tour the site, refreshments provided.
