Prayer Line: Jo Kusz From the Youth Minister Several weeks ago, our youth group gathered to vote on a new name and identity for who we are. Every member of our group submitted at least one name suggestion. They ranged from the goofy ( Miss J s Unicorns ) to the insightful ( the Faithful Flames ). One by one, we voted our way through the submissions until we came to the winning name that took the most votes. Our Presentation youth group is now formally known as The Spirit Squad. This name submission does not surprise me we invoke the Holy Spirit every time we gather! Today as we celebrate Pentecost, I wish to share with you the invocation that is prayed by our youth. I urge you to take a few moments, thank our Father for sending His Spirit to be with us, and try this prayer in your own life. Holy Spirit, source of truth; Breath of God giver of life! Surprise me in the midst of daily life. Go with me even into my plans. Transform me in my understanding. Fill me with all your gifts. Immerse me to make me clean. Awaken my talents to work in me. Work in me that I may grow less. Ignite your charism that I may witness to you. Overtake me when I flee. Enlighten me when I do not understand. Break me open when I freeze. Pour into me when I am hesitant. Purify me when I am tempted. Burn within me when I grow cold. Overwhelm me when I become complacent. Flood through me when I am empty. Fill me with joy when I am sad. Embrace me when I am lonely. Pray in me when I cannot find the words. Console me when I am abandoned. Heal me when I am sick. Hold me when I fall. Shelter me when I am defenseless. Seize me when I burn with longing. Rejoice in me when I love you. Amen. - Jessica Nelson Baby-Bottle Drive The Respect Life Committee is hosting a Baby Bottle Drive for Options for Women East (located at 891 White Bear Avenue) here at Presentation Church during the month of June. Please pick up a bottle and show your support by filling it up with cash, checks, or change. Then drop it off at Church in the large Baby Bottle in the Kennard Street entrance. You may also make a donation with a credit card at their website: The money collected will go to help support the many services provided by Options for Women East, including free pregnancy tests, free ultrasounds, free STI tests, education classes, maternity/baby supplies, counseling, support and referrals, and prenatal services. We appreciate your prayers and support in helping us reach out to women in our community who are experiencing an unplanned pregnancy and need someone to give them HOPE, HELP, and the HAND of friendship.

3 FFF: Family-centered Faith Formation Dear Parishioners, The Faith Formation Center will be closed this coming week. I will be in retreat at our monastery in St. Joseph, Minnesota, until June 10 th. Your prayers will be appreciated for all the Sisters who will be in retreat that week. Be assured of our prayers for you, especially for those of you who are sick and who carry heavy burdens of some form or other. Stewardship In the second reading today, St. Paul reminds the Corinthians, There are different gifts, but the same Spirit; there are different ministries, but the same Lord. How am I using my gifts for the common good? Mass Intentions Mass intentions are available for weekday and weekend Masses. You can have a Mass offered for the repose of the soul of a deceased loved one on the anniversary of their death, or other special occasions; for example, for someone celebrating their birthday or anniversary or in the situation of serious illness. Pastoral Care PASTORAL VISITS: Because of the Right to Privacy laws, Presentation Church is not notified of parishioners who are in the hospital, homebound, or have entered a health care facility. 4 Presentation School News SCRIP orders will continue to be processed over the summer on the 1 st and 15 th of each month. Please order online or drop order forms off at the parish office. Congratulations to our student of the year: Katie Marshall! Katie is a wonderful student and very involved in our school community. We wish her well next year as she continues her education at Hill-Murray High School. Have you outgrown your school uniforms? Please wash them up, make any needed repairs, and send them to school! In August we will host our uniform exchange where you can shop free of charge for any new items you need. We are in need of two parents to organize and run the uniform exchange; if you are interested, please contact the school office and let Ms. Linda know. Preschool News The countdown to summer is in full swing, not that the children (or teachers) are showing signs or anything! (Ha-ha!) The preschoolers have had a busy couple weeks with Father's Day Kickball and singing in the Spring Concert, both of which were successful; and now graduation for those entering kindergarten is upon us. We are happy to have children from all over our community; students do not have to be enrolled at Presentation of Mary school to attend. Leaving at 1:00 pm from the lower parking lot, we will make this journey on foot. We expect to arrive at the Cathedral at about 4:00 pm, and make a brief visit with a time for prayer, before walking down to Cossetta s for dinner at about 4:30 pm. (We plan to return using the Metro Transit bus.) If you would like to join us for any part of the itinerary, you are most welcome. No need to sign up; just show up.
