5 Announcemen ts We welcome you this Reformation Sunday, an annual remembrance of the historic changes in the early 1500 s within the Roman Catholic Church that created the Protestant Reformation and the Protestant wing of the Christian Church. Priest and Professor Dr. Martin Luther was at the epicenter of this chaotic and clarifying change of faith s foundation in the Word of God and the Church as its witness. Please join us for coffee and goodies after worship. Today we witness and celebrate with 9th Grade Confirmand, Adam McCoid, as he affirms the baptismal faith into which his parents brought him as a baby. Adam is Confirming his Christian faith in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, and in the Church as the Body of Christ that he will serve in as a young adult. He has already begun training in the media center. We thank Adam s parents, Jon and Denise McCoid, for their guidance and leadership over the years as they fulfill their Baptismal promises to raise their child in the ways of the Lord. We thank Rob Mees for serving as Adam s Confirmation Mentor.

At this time, he asks that no more meals be delivered as he has no more freezer space. He is grateful for everyone s support.

As Stewards (Managers) we have been given the responsibility (and blessing) of caring for the Gospel (Good News of God in Christ for the World). This means we give our time, talents, and treasures out of thankfulness for being found, cleansed, and united through Christ. We live our Stewardship in the ministry of the Body of Christ (the Church) in outreach to the world. Therefore, we gladly support our local church because Saint John s is our home base, our launching pad, our family of faith.

8 2016 marks the 50th Anniversary of Saint John s - we want a strong stewardship of thanks and outreach that this Golden Jubilee marks. We show our thanks best by trusting God in these next 50 years and in this coming year with new pastoral leadership and renewed mission. * So attend Nov. 1st 10:00 AM Combined Worship and the 11:00 AM Banquet and Program with Guest Speaker Rev. HELP THE FOOD PANTRY! - Shelves are nearing empty as donations have dipped and grocery stores are not sharing as much as before. Canned and packaged food is desperately needed for the 5 CITIES CHRISTIAN WOMEN S FOOD PANTRY. The Social Outreach Services Team is sponsoring a food drive to help the needy in our community from October 18 - November 22. Because the pantry has very little food on hand to give out to those in need, we have set a goal of 500 cans/packages of food by November 22. We ask for your help and support in this effort. Thank you in advance for your generous support. Donations may be left in the wagon located in the Commons.
