Come join us in the Library as we explore what kind of news is good to a culture that thinks it has rejected the Christian version. There are video vignettes and study guides as well as the book by Yancey. Learn how faith can be expressed in ways that disarm even the most cynical critics. The coffee will be on so come and join the discussion. More information: 10:45 am Youth Sunday School (Pre-K High School) Meet us at the Ga-Ga Ball Pit located outside between the Nursery/Coffee Nook and the Fellowship Hall for opening songs and fun. Then join us for group and individual activities and crafts. 10:45 am Adult Sunday School Class Old Testament with Pastor Travis Led by: Pastor Travis (pastortravis@peacelutheranbcs.org) Join Pastor Travis in the Fellowship Hall for a journey and discussion about the Old Testament. Please contact Rhonda Raphael in the event of an emergency requiring pastoral care. Sept. 5 th O.W.L.S. Potluck with Pastor Travis Anyone 65+ years old is invited to join Pastor Travis for a potluck on Wednesday, September 5 th at 11:30 am in the Fellowship Hall. O.W.L.S. is a newly-formed group and stands for "Older Wiser Lutherans" (65+ yrs. old). Youth 7 th 12 th grades are invited to join us on Wednesday evenings from 6:15-7:45 pm in the Fellowship Hall. Come and join us for some Bible Study, discussions and fun! Sept. 9 th Confirmation Hospice Bake Sale Our Confirmation youth will be selling baked goodies before/after Worship on Sunday, September 9 th. All funds raised will be used to purchase Christmas gifts for Hospice families. Faith Stepping Stones Entering Sunday School Families with children 2-4 years of age are invited to a special class designed to talk about faith in preschoolers and the Sunday School program here at Peace. GriefShare Group GriefShare, a grief support group, that provides help and encouragement after the death of a spouse, child, family member or friend. New sessions will start Sunday, September 9 th at 4:00-5:30 pm in the Library and will meet weekly through December 2 nd. Wednesday Join us on Wednesday, September 12 th at 6:00 pm in the Fellowship Hall. Faith at the Table Wednesdays are a congregational family time of learning together. Each month we will have a meal and table conversations. The theme this year is Ancestors of the New Testament. All ages are invited! Sept. 15th: Prayer Shawl Group Join us at 9:00 am on the 3rd Saturday of each month in the Fellowship Hall to gather, pray and work on Prayer Shawls/Blankets. Please rsvp below if you are planning to attend at: Sept. 23 rd Discovering Peace Lutheran This session will cover our history, our present, and how we are connected to the wider community. Sept. 30 th Discovering Lutherans This session will be a crash course in Lutheran history and theology. It s meant for those who are new to the Lutheran world, or those who would like a refresher. Sept. 30 th : Sept. 30 th -Oct. 7 th Family Promise Host Week Breakfast foods, evening meals, Overnight and evening hosts are needed Sunday (9/30) through Saturday (10/7). Please sign up to volunteer or provide food at: The new address for the Family Promise Center is 1601 Martin Luther King Blvd. in Bryan. Family Promise is a unique charity that provides a 9-week program and shelter for homeless families to assist them in getting back on their feet and independent. Our week is coming up so, think about the role you can play in preparing these families to return to the community. Sept. 30 th : Faith Stepping Stones New Bibles Current 3rd graders and their families are invited to join us on Sept. 30 th at 11:00 am for a special one-day Faith Stepping Stones event designed just for parents of children receiving and exploring the Bible. Each child will receive a new Bible. Adults and children will sit down together to talk about their lives of faith, discover important passages in the Bible, learn tips on how to find things, and learn how to get to know their Bibles. John Hensz, son of Sarah and Bob Hensz, that just flew over our heads is flying that plane!
