You will have an opportunity at the conclusion of each of the worship services on that Sunday to place a private letter to God in the gift boxes at the front. This is a time when you can give Jesus the Christmas present of your own heart and life by committing to Him for 2019 those parts of your mind, heart & life He wants most. All letters placed in the gift boxes will be burned after the services without ever being opened, so be as personal as you wish only God and you will ever see what you write. WILL YOU CONSIDER... a special year end gift to NEPC? Jesus said that our hearts follow our money. Your staff & officers seek to be good stewards of all that is given. I bet your Missions & Outreach Committee vets missions & ministry groups with more thoroughness than 95% of us do personally. Because God has blessed us with such an extraordinary worship team, we are able to offer two distinctively different services done with excellence. As I write these words, 125 students & leaders are in the mountains at Cedar Cliff. On Thursdays 150 or so women gather for Focus. What a blessing! If this is the church God has called you to, then I encourage you to invest your heart here; and giving is one of the ways to do so. If you have not yet made a contribution to our Legacy of Faith campaign, please consider it. If you are behind in your Legacy of Faith commitment, if you are able, I urge you to catch up. And special, special thanks to you who always so faithfully give, which enables us to stay in the battle, HIS battle. She and her husband, John, came to Northeast in the late 1980s, and Betty Nelle assumed her current role in She has been a tireless encourager and connector from day one. Many members of NEPC first met Betty Nelle through the new members class, which she has continued to lead right up through our current group of members, of who joined our church on November 14. CONGREGATIONAL CARE Can We Visit YOU? There would be no Congregational Care if it weren t for YOU, for YOU to be seen and known! NEPC has some members who have a real heart to visit you and get to know YOU. Would YOU Operation Christmas Child Highlights What a wonderful celebration we had with First Northeast Baptist Church on November 18. Both churches together collected 780 boxes! Her husband, John, has served NEPC in numerous ways as well, including serving on our Session and as Moderator of Palmetto Presbytery. John and Betty Nelle s smiling faces are a ubiquitous part of Wednesday evenings. There will be a reception honoring Betty Nelle and her over-two decade service to NEPC and our Lord on Sunday, December 2 at 2:00 p.m. The reception will be in the Grand Hall with hor d oeuvres and drinks provided. You are most cordially invited to join us in celebrating this wonderful person. like a visit from some of these fellow members? Guess what? That means YOU would get to know them too! Some of you cannot always get out and about the way you want to. Some mighty nice church people are willing to come to you and share a little bit of their lives. Let us know how we can care for YOU. Christmas Outreach Fund Your offerings will provide food baskets for the families we adopt. Christmas Tree Tags Pick a tag, purchase an age appropriate gift in the $30.00 $40.00 range, and bring the wrapped gift with the tag taped to it to the Atrium by Wednesday, December 12. Outreach Volunteer If you would like to greet the families and hand out gifts and food baskets, show up on December 15 at 8:30 a.m. Contact: Manny Rodriguez, mrodriguez@nepres.com. That s a great question! Let me offer a question in response. Do you have a group of 6-12 fellow Christians at NEPC whom you share life with? If you would answer no to this question, then let us help you become further connected to the body of Christ at NEPC. Here s a simple place to start. Remember the three C s. Community Groups, Community Dinners, and Congregational Meals (what we call Savory Sundays ). Community Groups meet either in homes or at the church, and offer a chance for couples or singles to find a smaller group of friends at the church. Community Dinners are a chance to share a meal with others who live near you. Congregational Meals (aka Savory Sunday s) are a chance for you to break bread with the entire church. NEPC KIDS Mothers Morning Out God s Story will end better than it began... Nancy Guthrie traces nine themes throughout the Bible, revealing how God s plan for the new creation will be far more glorious than the original. But this new creation glory isn t just reserved for the future. The hope of God s plan for his people transforms everything about our lives today. Mother s Morning Out has had a great first part of the year... enjoying music, chapel days, fire safety, and a pumpkin patch and a Show of Sharing for Harvest Hope Food bank. MMO is accepting registrations for the three and four year old classes.
