Church Attendance: Worship 203 (Sat.-88, Sun.-115), one year ago 190 (Sat.-68, Sun.-122); Adult Bible Class 25, one year ago 32 A large-print copy of the May issue of The Lutheran Witness is available today on the north buffet. A recent newsletter from Seminarian Slavens is posted on the bulletin board. Concordia's Church Supper will be Sunday, June 25, with serving from 4-7 p.m. in the school gym. The menu will include Jack Salmon, fried chicken, potato salad, corn, green beans, slaw, and dessert. The cost of the meal will be $10 for adults and $5 for children Carry-outs will be available at a designated area (most likely at the rear entrance). Volunteers are still needed in a few areas. If you did not sign up, and would be so kind as to consider it, help is still lacking in the following areas: preparing potato salad on Saturday, June 24 (usually mid-morning), table waiters (second shift- 5:15-end) (to date, only three people have signed up for this slot, and at least a dozen are needed), and a second dishwasher for the 5:30-end shift would be helpful. Hymnals Needed The Evangelical Lutheran Church of Liberia (ELCL), partner church of the LC-MS, is in need of copies of Lutheran Service Book so members can have a unified worship resource. Grace Lutheran Church, Uniontown, is collecting funds to purchase hymnals to be packaged at Orphan Grain Train in June, and shipped to Monrovia, Liberia, West Africa, in July. The cost of a hymnal is $26. Individual and congregational gifts may be mailed before Sunday, June 25, to Grace Lutheran Church, 53 Grace Ln, Uniontown, MO Saxony Lutheran High School Notes Saxony Lutheran Youth Soccer Camp, hosted by the Saxony girls and boys coaching staff and players, will be Monday-Thursday, June 26-29, from 5-6:30 p.m. at the Saxony Lutheran High School soccer fields. The camp is for boys and girls entering third-eighth grades in the school year. The cost is $35. Registration forms are available on the south buffet at Concordia. 5

Neighboring Church & Community Notes Altenburg Public School is needing a part-time cafeteria assistant for the school year. The Perry County Lutheran Chorale will have a 2017 Summer Tour Concert this Wednesday, May 31, at 7 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Perryville. The concert will feature songs ranging in style from Just a Closer Walk With Thee to Mozart, Brahms, and Vivaldi. Admission is free. A free-will offering will be taken in support of the chorale. Hanover Lutheran Church invites you to the 2 nd -Time-Around Prom (70 s-themed disco party) this Friday, June 2, from 7-11 p.m. at the Hanover Lutheran Church Activity Center, 2949 Perryville Rd, Cape Girardeau. The event will include dancing, a photo booth, disco ball, and refreshments. Prizes will be awarded for best outfit and best hair. Tickets are $30 each in advance by calling or $50 at the door (must be 21 and older to attend). Limited space is available, so get your tickets early! This fund-raiser is sponsored by the Board of Outreach. All proceeds will go toward the Activity Center Building Loan. Rummage Sale Eisleben Lutheran Church in Scott City will have its annual Rummage Sale at the parish hall, in conjunction with the city-wide yard sale, this Friday, June 2, from 7 a.m.-5 p.m. and Saturday, June 3, from 7 a.m.-12 p.m. Baked goods will also be available for purchase. Mighty Fortress In Jesus, The Victory Is Won! Vacation Bible School will be held Monday-Friday, July 10-14, from 8:30-11:30 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church, Uniontown. Children will learn about God, our Mighty Fortress, and the victory Jesus won for us, through Bible Stories, Bible verse activities, songs, crafts, games, snacks, and more. 7 Attention Junior High and High School Students The Lutheran Home needs volunteers to participate in its Junior Volunteer Program. The Junior Volunteer Program is a way to gain service hours and learn about working with older adults while helping with the Activities Department. Participants must be at least 13 years old.
