3 his way and live; turn back, turn back from your evil ways, for why will you die, O house of Israel? 12 And you, son of man, say to your people, The righteousness of the righteous shall not deliver him when he transgresses, and as for the wickedness of the wicked, he shall not fall by it when he turns from his wickedness, and the righteous shall not be able to live by his righteousness when he sins. 13 Though I say to the righteous that he shall surely live, yet if he trusts in his righteousness and does injustice, none of his righteous deeds shall be remembered, but in his injustice that he has done he shall die. 14 Again, though I say to the wicked, You shall surely die, yet if he turns from his sin and does what is just and right, 15 if the wicked restores the pledge, gives back what he has taken by robbery, and walks in the statutes of life, not doing injustice, he shall surely live; he shall not die. 16 None of the sins that he has committed shall be remembered against him. He has done what is just and right; he shall surely live. 17 Yet your people say, The way of the Lord is not just, when it is their own way that is not just. 18 When the righteous turns from his righteousness and does injustice, he shall die for it. 19 And when the wicked turns from his wickedness and does what is just and right, he shall live by them. 20 Yet you say, The way of the Lord is not just. The Call Committee contacted the 11 candidates by phone and met on Tuesday, March 19. The list has been narrowed to seven candidates, and video interviews will take place in the next couple of weeks. Please keep the committee members in your prayers through this process. Thrivent Choice Dollars! Since the Choice program began in 2010, Concordia, Frohna, has received a total of $102,375 from Thrivent! This is the most important quarter to direct Choice Dollars, as you can capture everything received for the year 2018 that was not previously directed. Thrivent members need to direct their Choice Dollars by next Sunday, March 31, 2019, in order to capture any remaining 2018 Choice Dollars. This is free money; please don t let it go to waste. If you have any questions, please contact your Thrivent Representative or talk with Carol Duggan. (FYI also since the program began, Saxony Lutheran High School has received $104,428, UCLS - $32,675, and The Lutheran Heritage Museum - $10,366.) A Note from the Treasurer: As you look at designating Thrivent Choice Dollars, if you designate them to Concordia Lutheran Church, please remember that unless you choose otherwise, your Choice Dollars are donated to the General Fund. If you wish to have your dollars go to a specific area/fund, you can either get a form from Carol Duggan to designate the funds, or you can contact the church treasurer, Derek Miesner, at concordia.treas@att.net. The Altenburg Zone LWML Spring Rally will be next Sunday, March 31, at 1 p.m. at Concordia. The theme for the rally is Truly I say to you as you did it to one of these my brothers you did it to me (Matthew 25:40). The speaker for the rally will be Katie Miesner, a welfare professional who works with CarePortal to identify local children and families in need. CarePortal shares the needs with local churches to see if they can provide assistance. This gives churches a way to connect with someone in need. The ingathering will be Dollar General, Walgreens, or Walmart gift cards, or monetary donations to CarePortal. Lutheran Youth Fellowship (LYF) Notes Concordia LYF will host a Take-and-Bake Casserole Sale today, March 24, after worship. Small casseroles will be available for $15 each (2-4 servings) and large casseroles will be available for $20 each (6-8 servings). 6

7 Concordia LYF is looking for another chaperone to attend the National Youth Gathering with them on July 10-17, 2019, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. (If you wish to donate something, please drop off your donation on Sunday morning before church. Thanks!) The LYF is collecting aluminum cans. Neighboring Church & Community Notes A Breakfast and Bake Sale is today, March 24, with serving until 11:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Church Hall, Apple Creek. The menu includes sausage, scrambled eggs, fried potatoes, biscuits and gravy, fruit, homemade coffeecake, and drink. The cost of the meal is $8 for adults and $4 for children ages Carry-outs are available. A Lenten Concert by the Perry County Lutheran Chorale will be this Friday, March 29, at 7 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, Longtown. The chorale will present familiar favorites like God So Loved The World, Go Down Moses, and Come Unto Me, along with some new chorale pieces He Hideth My Soul, Ride On King Jesus, and Shut de Do. Admission is free. A free-will offering will be taken in support of the chorale. The Board of Directors of Camp SEMO Wappapello invites you to a free weekend of camping this Friday and Saturday, March 29 and 30. RV camping is also available. 8 The play, Something Fishy Going On will be presented by the Jacob Players of Christ Lutheran Church, this Friday and Saturday, March 29 and 30, and Friday and Saturday, April 5 and 6, at 7 p.m. in the Christ Lutheran Gym. Tickets will be available at the door for $8 for adults and $4 for children. Come and see the 24 th and final comedy play of the Jacob Area Players for lots of laughs. All proceeds will benefit the Christ Lutheran Church in Jacob, Illinois, to help support the Christian day school. A Chicken and Dumplings and Sausage Dinner will be next Sunday, March 31, from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 5665 County Road 635, Egypt Mills. The dinner will include German potato salad, green beans, homemade bread, desserts, and drinks. Dr. Frederic Baue from St. Louis. Special music will be provided by the Immanuel Lutheran School Chime Choir. Refreshments will be served following the service. The Annual Fried Chicken Supper, hosted by Immanuel Lutheran Church, Altenburg, will be Sunday, April 7, with serving beginning at 3 p.m. at the Immanuel Lutheran Church Hall.
