3 Fr. Peter Gorges Jubilee Celebration! Next Sunday, July 8th, we will be celebrating the 50th anniversary of the ordination of Fr. Peter Gorges! The event will take place after the 11:00am Mass in St. Ann s Hall. Come celebrate with us - all are welcome! Bring a side dish to share. Young Adult Group This world offers you comfort, but you were not made for comfort - you were made for greatness! If you are between the ages of and would like to build relationships with young adults who are living their faith in the world, please join us! We meet every Thursday evening at 6:30pm for a light meal and time in community. Our meetings range from movie nights, discussions on aspects of the faith in our lives, evenings with Eucharistic Adoration, social events, service, and others! July 8-15 There will be an anniversary Mass celebrating 25 years of ordination for Fr. Pat Travers! The Mass will be held at the Cathedral, where he was ordained, at 5:30pm on Wednesday, July 25th. There will be a reception in the hall to follow. Please join us in this celebration and bring a side dish to share. Our final week of hosting Family Promise for this year will take place July There are many wonderful ways to volunteer with various tasks during that week! Volunteers are needed to prepare meals, set up the beds on Sunday night before the arrival of the families, take down after the families leave, clean the bedding, and act as hosts each day to stay with the families for meals and overnight. Hosting takes place in shifts - there is a dinner shift, an evening shift, and an overnight shift each day. At least two volunteers are needed per shift. We are especially lucky to have a visiting Family Promise intern who will be filling one spot on the overnight shift each night. Some shifts allow more opportunity to interact with the family, while others have little to no interaction. There is truly something for everyone so please consider giving of your time! We welcome volunteers of all ages and abilities! This is a unique opportunity to serve our community as an individual or a family. All volunteers attend a short training to prepare for the week and to know what to expect. There is a great need right now for specific personal care and food items for clients who are transitioning from charity housing or shelters to a very small rental apartment. Currently they are very low on the following items: PERSONAL CARE ITEMS FOR BOTH MEN & WOMEN: Deodorant for men & women Shaving cream men & women Regular size Shampoo FOOD ITEMS: Peanut butter: smooth or chunky; Jelly Pancake Mix and syrup Cathedral Mount Roberts Tram Pass Check Out Procedure Below is the check out procedure for checking out one of the Cathedral s three Mount Robert s Tram passes. Please sign up in the parish office at a minimum of 3 days before you need the pass. We cannot guarantee pass availability for requests of shorter notice. Each pass is for two people. The person who checks out the pass is responsible for it. IF the card is lost, the replacement fee is $ Day of use: Pick up the pass in the parish office on the morning of the day you will be using it. Office hours are from 9am to 2pm on weekdays. For weekend use, please contact Fr. Pat Casey. Please follow all Mount Roberts Tram rules and procedures. Check out policy is for one day of use only. Please return the pass promptly after your day of use. If the office is closed, place the passes in the locked box at the Cathedral s entrance.
