Nicholas Orthodox Church on December 5 th for Vespers (Evening Prayer) celebrating the vigil of the feast of St. Nicholas. Vespers will be celebrated at St.

Parishioners are also invited to the celebration of the Divine Liturgy for the feast of St. Nicholas at 10:00pm at St. Nicholas Orthodox Church on December 6 th. All are welcome!

2 Welcome to the Cathedral of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary First Sunday of Advent Celebration of the Parish Feast Day of St. Nicholas Orthodox Church Cathedral parishioners are invited to join the pastor and parishioners of St. Nicholas Orthodox Church on December 5 th for Vespers (Evening Prayer) celebrating the vigil of the feast of St. Nicholas. Vespers will be celebrated at St. Nicholas at 6:00pm, followed by a reception of light refreshments at St. Ann s Hall immediately afterwards (approximately 7:00pm). Parishioners are also invited to the celebration of the Divine Liturgy for the feast of St. Nicholas at 10:00pm at St. Nicholas Orthodox Church on December 6 th. All are welcome! Young Adult Group Are you between the ages of 18 and 35? Do you want to learn more about your faith, share fellowship with other young adults, and help serve your community with charity? Catholic Meme of the Week: Holy Day of Obligation Saturday, December 8 is a Holy Day of Obligation. Mass Times: Friday Vigil 5:30 pm Saturday 9:30 am High School Youth Ministry The Youth Group will be helping out AD- VENTures on Sunday December 2 from noon - 2 at St. Paul s and 2 4 at the Cathedral. We will meet at the Cathedral that night for Youth Group from 6:30 7:45. Please let me know if you will need a ride from St. Paul s to the Cathedral. There is no registration fee for this group. Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament Tuesday mornings, 7-8am Whether you spend 15 minutes or the whole hour, come start your day with Christ in the Eucharist! Family Promise Training This Monday, December 3rd, we will be hosting this month's Family Promise Volunteer training at the parish hall from 6:30-8:00pm. If you have already gone through training with either Theresa, Mary Lou, or Shannon, you do not need to attend this again. If you have not yet received the mandatory volunteer training, please know that you must participate in this one-time training in order to volunteer. There are monthly training sessions so if this Monday does not work for you, let me know and I will make sure we are all on the same page for the January training! Cathedral s next Family Promise week is Dec. 30 Jan. 6 Catechesis of the Good Shepherd Formation Course The Cathedral will be hosting a Level 1 CGS formation course in two-part intensives. Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is a particular approach to the religious formation of children, ages 3-12, which is rooted in Scripture, Liturgy, and the educational principles of Maria Montessori. This course is designed to, among other things, explore the religious nature and most vital religious needs of the child 3-6 years of age, and to deepen the participant s own enjoyment of God s presence. I hope you will consider joining us. There is a great need right now for specific personal care and food items for clients who are transitioning from charity housing or shelters to a very small rental apartment.

There is a great need right now for specific personal care and food items for clients who are transitioning from charity housing or shelters to a very small rental apartment. Due to space limitations in the apartment, the personal items should not be too large (like Costco sizes) but not as small as a travel size. Most of the clients are single.
