2 Welcome We warmly welcome you to worship at The Presbyterian Church in Basking Ridge. We pray that you will be encouraged in your journey of faith and drawn closer to God by your experience with us. Children and Families Childcare for infants and children ages 2 and younger is available in the church nursery during our Sunday morning services. Pagers are used to contact parents during the worship services when necessary. Oak Table Service We believe that worship nurtures children and that children enrich our worship life together. If your children become restless in worship, please feel free to quietly move around with them or join them on the carpet for young children behind the seating area. Sunday Worship Services 9:00 am Nursery care is available for children age 2 years and younger. 10:15 am Nursery care is available for children age 2 years and younger. There is no Sunday School today due to the Children s Musical. Online Sermons Recorded audio sermons from most Sundays are available on the church website at To access, click on the Sermons link under Worship and Music on the main menu. Amplification Headsets So that all may enjoy the worship service, sound amplification headsets are available from the ushers for those who need assistance with hearing. Who Does God Call Us to Be? We are a vibrant, warm and welcoming community of faith. Those who worship here come from a diverse range of backgrounds and would describe themselves in a rich variety of ways. We acknowledge our doubt, our struggles, and that we are all quite human and imperfect and that we are each at a unique place on our faith journey. We find our unity, our common identity, in Jesus Christ and together we seek to joyfully worship God and energetically minister to the needs of the world on God s behalf. We gather in anticipation of being transformed by the power, purpose and presence of God among us, and go forth equipped to love God and neighbor more deeply and more wholeheartedly. We believe that faithful leadership of a church requires being open to new possibilities, taking risks and learning from mistakes as we try again. We will begin with lunch for the men and students at 12 noon and then all are welcome to enjoy the musical performance beginning at 12:45 p.m. A scrumptious lunch will be prepared by Chef Gary Ingram. Please call the church office to RSVP at Artist of the Month Our May Artist of the Month Perfectly timed with spring, stop by the church house to see the display of beautiful photography of Jill Brown. Jill captures her love of birds as we see bald eagles, osprey, red-headed woodpeckers and more in flight, on treetops, nesting, etc. Come and enjoy this fine display of our feathered friends! Flowers may be given in memory or in honor of someone or to celebrate an occasion. There are pier openings on May 29, June 12 and 26. Join us for Coffee and Fellowship in Westminster Hall after the 9 a.m. service hosted by Gail and Juan Iglesias and after the 10:15 a.m. service hosted by Karen and Jeff Johnson. Youth and Young Adult Ministries Middle School Bibles & Bagels Due to the Children s Musical, we will not meet for Bibles & Bagels today. We will see you next week! Middle School Fellowship (Gr. 6-8) We will gather together for Fellowship in the Youth Center this Wednesday. We will have dinner together followed by games and we will pick up our film project again. We will end with a devotion on the topic of Generosity. All middle school students grades 6-8 are welcome to join us from 6-7:30 p.m. and please bring friends! Senior High Fellowship: Coffee House! Tonight we will have a Coffee House in the church house courtyard from 7-8:30 p.m.! There will be coffee, tea and refreshments, as well as baked goods. We will also have an open mic, meaning there will be a microphone and speaker set up, and people are invited to sing, play, perform poetry, etc. Anything goes, as long as it s appropriate! There will be a free will offering as part of the fundraising for workcamp. All senior high students are welcome! We are trying to reach out as wide as possible, so please help spread the news and encourage your friends to come! Youth Scholarships Each year, the Youth and Young Adult Ministry Council offers scholarships for college juniors, seniors or graduate students. The scholarships are granted to aid education at an accredited college, university or seminary for individuals dedicated to working in helping professions, such as the pastorate, psychology, psychiatry, medicine, nursing, law and social work. Church members and Somerset Hills residents are eligible and can obtain applications in the Church House or our website ( Applications due: May 15.

Spiritual Formation Walk and Talk Group Begins Tuesday, May 24 8:30-10 a.m. A biweekly Walk and Talk Group will begin meeting on Tuesday, May 24, from 8:30-10:00 a.m. at the home of Betty Hahn located at 144 Village Drive, Basking Ridge. The group will walk for about 20 minutes prior to discussing the book, Experiments in a Search for God by Mark Thurston. This is a study in personal spiritual growth aided by exercises that can be done between meetings. For more information contact Betty Hahn at or ea_hahn@earthlink.net. All are welcome. Opportunity to Give and Serve Collection of Gently-Used and New Women's Clothing As you are bringing out your warmer-weather clothes, please consider the opportunity to help women transitioning from prison to the community via the Bo Robinson Transitional Center in Trenton, by providing clothing for their new life. The women need new or gentlyused spring and summer clothing of all sizes especially jeans, slacks, tops, sweaters, and sweat suits (pants and top). New underwear, bras and socks, any sizes, are particularly needed. Please leave donations in the box in Westminster Hall, or in the coat rack near the parlor in the church house, by June 12. Each year, this vital mission outreach depends upon the support of the entire congregation. This year is no exception, and we would like to extend an opportunity for you to take part in this important ministry! Here s how you can help: Pledge to pray daily for a particular student or advisor. Pledge to write a letter to a camper - we ll give you a name before we leave. Donate Money: $20... will help offset gas costs for our rental vehicles $40... will pay for a square of roofing shingles $50... will pay for three gallons of paint $ will provide round trip transportation for one Workcamper $ will subsidize the cost of one advisor $525 will provide a scholarship for a student who cannot pay I d love to help!
