Our Sunday School program is open to all children. Our Sunday School teachers lead our children through the joys of Bible History, learning in greater depth the love, promises, and forgiveness of our God. We are grateful for Lorrie Corder, Sally Bays, and Deborah Morgan- Ellis for volunteering to lead Sunday School. Thank you!! Please come and help bless the year for our youngest members. Presentation from Serenity House director on the closure of the overnight shelters in town This Sunday, Doc Robinson, executive director of Serenity House, will be with us at coffee hour to talk about the closure of the overnight shelters in June due to insufficient funding, and the desire of Serenity House and the community to reopen them in October as cold wet weather arrives. Community fund-raising has been initiated through United Way so please do stay for coffee hour to hear what's happening in our community for those without shelter, the "least of these," and how those efforts can be supported.

Join the Choir ~ September 19 at 7:00 pm Choir rehearsals resume on Wednesday, September 19 at 7:00. The choir at St. Andrew s is open to all who have an interest in singing on Sunday mornings at the 10:00 service. Contact Jim Couture for more information. Musical Chairs ~ Port Angeles Symphony Orchestra We will adopt another instrument this year through the symphony s Musical Chairs Program - the viola. Phil Morgan-Ellis has played viola with them for 40 years. Madison Orth has been playing violin for PASO for 2 years. We have gathered in $245! Only $55 more to go! Look for the jar on the narthex table and contribute what you can. Then go to a symphony concert and listen for the lovely sound of the violas. Electronic Book of Common Prayer Church Publishing has released an app for the Book of Common Prayer called the ecp. It includes the most commonly used liturgies and the readings not only for Sundays, but for the Daily Office as well. You ll find the church calendar, Collects of the Day, with links to the lessons and prayers right in the liturgy. It is available for download from the App Store for ios and Google Play for Androids for only $9.99. Here s a link to read more about it. Thanks to the fillers of the Food Bank basket One day last week I had the occasion to go through our Food Bank basket to make up a bag to deliver to someone in need. I was so grateful to find a variety of "good" food; food that would sustain, not only boxes of jello or the rejects from our own pantries. I took a bag of peanut butter, loaf of bread, cans of tuna, good breakfast cereal and a carton of almond milk, chili, canned potatoes, etc. There are, of course, suggestions for the Food Bank every month to fill their shelves. But it happens occasionally that someone needs to take from what we ourselves have here and I was glad to have been able to put together a variety of healthy and substantive foods which would have made several good meals. Canapes and Conversations ~ Noshes and Nibbles at the Fox home On Friday, September 21 at 4:00 in the afternoon, Larry Fox and Nancy Prince-Fox will host an Interfaith House Blessing and Get-together. School Supplies for the Boys & Girls Club Don t forget to bring in backpacks and supplies. There is a Boys & Girls Club box under the counter in the narthex just waiting to be filled!
