3 + JHS THE GOD OF JESUS The God of Jesus is the God of the unconditional love, Who loves us for what we are and not for what we do; the God who looks at us more precisely when we are farther away from His Path. The God who has loved us when we were sinners. (Rom 5, 9) and He loves us and prefers us just for that. (Mce, 16-17) Monday:2 Pt 1:2-7; Ps 91:1-2, 14-16; Mk 12:1-12 Tuesday:2 Pt 3:12-15a, 17-18; Ps 90:2-4, 10, 14, 16; Mk 12:13-17 Wednesday:2 Tm 1:1-3, 6-12; Ps 123:1b-2; Mk 12:18-27 Thursday:2 Tm 2:8-15; Ps 25:4-5ab, 8-10, 14; Mk 12:28b-34 Friday:Hos 11:1, 3-4, 8c- 9; Is 12:2-6; Eph 3:8-12, 14-19; Jn 19:31-37 Saturday:2 Tm 4:1-8; 1 Sm 2:1, 4-8abcd; Lk 2:41-51 The God of Jesus is the God of the Kingdom In other words, a God who has a high historic project for humanity: A project that means peace, justice, fraternity, solidarity, the equality among all peoples; and the respect to the universe, that God created it to be our common house for all. It is a project that begins and ends in God also. He is the God that incarnates in each person, but He continues always to be ANOTHER (Mt ) The God of Jesus is the God of Generosity. Everything He gives us is free. His generosity is perhaps one of his most beautiful attributes. We cannot buy Him with anything; He cannot be sold for anything. EVERYTHING IN HIM IS A GIFT. (Mt. 11, 25) The God of Jesus is the God that we experience. In other words we know Him and we understand Him from the experience and our encounters with Jesus, and not so much from our own knowledge (Jn 14, 8-9) There are not steps in the understanding of Him. The key to know Him and be close to Him is the knowledge and acceptance of our limited condition of sinners, of poor and needing human beings. This is the condition of His experience. (Mt. 11, 25) The God of Jesus is the God of Freedom (Gal. 5, 5) and the will that He has for our freedom and that He stills in us, a desire to be free (Jn. 8, 31-36) He puts love as the only normative criteria. He is a God that puts love above the Law, Mercy over Justice. He is a God who invites us to throw ourselves in His arms and in His heart. (Mt. 6, 24-34) The God of Jesus is the God of the Passover. He teaches something new: If the grain of wheat does not die, it will not give fruit (Jn. 12, 23-24) It is worth it, to give ourselves to the bottom, the death that generates life. (Jn. 12, 25-26) The God of Jesus is the Incarnated God. He chose the weak, the poor, the small, as the first channel of revelation. The Incarnation before any other gift of God. Whom do you look for? The celebration will be led by Bishop Emeritus Edmond Carmody. The mass begins at 6pm followed by Eucharistic procession through the streets of Kingsville. We are so blessed to be a part of the Diocese of Corpus Christi; to have been named after this mystery of Corpus Christi. Let us celebrate what we are The Body of Christ.
