2 Be Jesus... From Father Steve... August 7, 2016 We have had several concerns with our present bike rack. Both students and regular parishioners have informed me of its inadequacy including difficulty parking bikes the way it is placed and the design of the bike rack itself which does not accommodate some of the newer bike locks. A er consul ng with Brenda Barre, a landscape architect in the parish, and UK; and thanks to the wonderful generosity of one of our parishioners, we hope to have new back racks installed by the me school starts. Other improvements have been made to the building and grounds over the summer, including power washing and trea ng the concrete benches and the Marian Gro o; re staining the benches; pain ng the walls in the halls; carpets have been cleaned in the Narthex, rooms 1 and 2, and in apartments 8, 9, and 10; sealing and re striping of the parking lot; and scraping old and pealing paint from the upstairs deck, pain ng, and power washing the chairs. There is s ll more to do, like pain ng the doors, cleaning the chapel floor, cleaning the kitchen floor, and pain ng rooms 3 and 4. We want to spruce the place up a li le in me for the start of the school year. Students will be arriving soon. Our First Night at Newman will be held on Thursday, August 18 th ; classes resume on August 24 th ; and Parish Picnic will be held on August 28 th. Stay tuned for other important dates!!!
