A Message from Father Tom Our Parish and the Internet About six years ago, our Parish set up a website at It was a very good website, and we encouraged everyone to visit. A lot has happened since then. It is now filled with new options. We post our bulletin on the site every Thursday. This means you can read the bulletin before you come to Mass. Our website is a great way to get all the information about our parish. It has news and information, and we change the slide show of pictures on a regular basis. Another feature of our site is the ability to pay your church giving online with your credit card or from your bank account. This can be done on a onetime basis, or you can set it up for regular payments. I know someone who gives on his phone when he is traveling. There is another way to help: If you shop Amazon.com or Mystic Monk Coffee, you can access their websites from our website. The great thing is that we receive a percentage of any purchase you make. You don t have to sign up. Just enter their site from our site. Our parish website also has all the forms for youth ministry or faith formation. For example, on August 19 th we are taking a trip to Noah s Ark. All the information is on our site, including the permission slip and release forms. Holy Cross Parish is also on Social Media. We have an official parish Facebook page. I encourage you to look up Holy Cross Kaukauna and LIKE our page. There are short faith messages and information. I had a series during Lent. I also have a Fr. Tom Pomeroy Facebook page, where I post a lot more religious posts and have discussions. People will ask religious questions by sending me messages. If you are online, I encourage you to connect to your parish on our website and on Facebook. It is good to use all our options in growing in our faith and connecting to our community. Father Tom Thank You for Supporting Our Seminarians Seven young men will become new seminarians at the beginning of this academic year. They will join 20 others already in formation. You can help these seminarians by supporting their calling through the annual Seminarian Collection, which will arrive in your mailbox this week. Your donation helps provide tuition, room and board, insurance, a small stipend for seminarians and support of the Office of Vocations, which invites disciples to consider the priesthood. Faith is a challenge for everyone at times. Putting our trust in God, in everything we do, means that God s plan for our lives may be different than our plan. When one door closes, another one opens.
