1 Eternal Rest Grant Unto Them O Lord, And Let Perpetual Light Shine Upon Them Please remember the following clergy during the month of October October 9 October 13 October 20 October 21 October 28 Nov. 2 Nov. 4 HH Pope Pius XII Rev. Bernard L. Hickey Rev. Richard J. O Donnell Rev. Michael Tschudi Deacon John Kucera Rev. Rodney Titus Rev. John McAtavey Pope s Prayer Intentions Many people conclude the Rosary, the Divine Mercy Chaplet and other prayers and devotions by praying for the intentions of the Holy Father. The Ordo lists the papal prayer intentions each month. Parishes are encouraged to publish the papal prayer intentions in their Sunday bulletins. To better know the concrete problems that trouble the Universal Church, especially those of the missions, the Holy Father asks that his monthly intentions be the object of knowledgeable and responsible prayer on the part of the people of God (Ordo). October General/Universal Intention That the Lord may grant peace to those parts of the world most battered by war and violence. Missionary/Evangelization Intentions That World Mission Day may rekindle in every believer zeal for carrying the Gospel into all the world. Blessing of Healthcare Workers Lord our God, through the power of the Holy Spirit your Son healed our infirmities and diseases. 7 Bishop: Bishop: Prayers of the Faithful Confirmation 2014/2015 My dear friends, let us be one in prayer to God our Father as we are one in the faith, hope, and love His Spirit gives. For these sons and daughters of God, confirmed by the gift of the Spirit, that they may give witness to Christ by lives built on faith and love, let us pray to the Lord. For the newly confirmed, who have received the fullness of God s Spirit, that standing at the altar of the Lord they may share the banquet of Christ s sacrifice, calling God their Father in the midst of the Church, let us pray to the Lord. For their parents and godparents who led them in faith, that by word and example they may always encourage them to follow the way of Jesus Christ, let us pray to the Lord. For the holy Church of God, in union with Francis our pope, Gerald our bishop, and all the bishops, that God, who gathers us together by the Holy Spirit, may help us grow in unity of faith and love until His Son returns in glory, let us pray to the Lord. For all men and women, of every race and nation, that they may acknowledge the one God as Father, and in the bond of common fellowship seek His kingdom, which is peace and joy in the Holy Spirit, let us pray to the Lord. God our Father, you sent your Holy Spirit upon the apostles, and through them and their successors you give the Spirit to your people. May His works begun at Pentecost continue to grow in the hearts of all who believe. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
