The Lord has truly risen!! Let us rejoice and be glad for our salvation has been won by the death and resurrection of Jesus the Christ, the Son of God. Let this day be a day of joy and thanksgiving. And for the next eight days let us continue to celebrate this holy day as if it were one single day extended. Today is the first day of the Octave of Easter and the Church will be filled with Easter joy throughout this week. And next Sunday the whole Church will remember in a special way the Divine Mercy of God extended to the whole human race. We will have a procession following the 12:30 p.m. Mass next Sunday, April 23rd to celebrate Divine Mercy Sunday in a special way. Around 1:30 p.m. everyone will join in the procession with the Blessed Sacrament and as we walk several blocks around the neighborhood we will lift up our voices in praise of our God. The Spanish, English, and Latin choirs will provide the singing and when we return to the Church the whole congregation will join in adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. Benediction with the Blessed Sacrament will conclude our celebration. Each day during this week at 3:00 p.m. we will pray the Novena to Divine Mercy and will bring different groups of souls to be immersed in God s infinite Mercy. Please join us when you are able or pray at home or work if you cannot join us at the Church. This coming Friday there will be a Mass at 6:00 p.m. followed by a Concert of Praise and Worship in Spanish. Jose and Asucena Lara are coming to speak to us at the Concert and direct us in praise and worship of God. We hope that as many as possible will come to the Church for the Mass and special Concert. The theme of the Concert is: Easter illumines our Life.

3 April 16, 2017 This coming Saturday, April 22nd there will be a retreat for First Holy Communion students who are in the second grade. The retreat will start with Mass at 8:30 a.m. followed by a rehearsal for First Communion. There will be first confessions as well beginning at 11:00 a.m. Every First Communion child in second grade is expected to attend this retreat. Now that Easter is here there will be many celebrations of weddings, baptism, quinceanos, anniversaries, First Communions, and Confirmations. The Easter Season will extend until the Feast of Pentecost which will be in seven weeks. This is a joyful time but also a time of great activity. Bear with me if I seemed a bit harried at times!! Also, on Fridays now that Lent has passed we will have the 8:30 a.m. Mass in English and the Spanish Mass at 7:00 p.m. But, this Friday, April 21st is an exception because of the Concert. The Mass will be offered first at 6:00 p.m. followed then by the Concert of Praise. I hope that Easter Joy pervades your whole week and raises your spirits to God in thanksgiving for His great Mercy. Sincerely yours, Father Timothy Davison Announcement about Father Festus Maliwa Father Festus has been experiencing difficulties over the past several years but his condition has worsened during the last couple of months. Many of you have asked about him lately. He has recently moved away from the parish and is staying with his sister in a house near St.Pius X temporarily until other arrangements can be made for him. Please keep him in your prayers as he goes through this difficult period in his life. Until he has a permanent address any cards or letters can be addressed to Sts.Peter and Paul parish and we'll make sure that he receives them. Calvary Cemetery After 25+ of dedicated service to Calvary Cemetery and our families, Mary Latta will be retiring effective June 5, Mary has been a tremendous asset to the organization and will be best remembered for the compassionate way she served those in their time of sorrow. We will begin immediately to find her replacement so that Mary can train them for a smooth transition. Attached is the job description. 5 A Letter From Bishop Go Life van Dear Brothers in the Lord, I am pleased to announce that Fr. Todd Nance and Fr. John O Neill have agreed to serve as chaplains for the Courage / EnCourage apostolates, respectively. Courage / EnCourage will be made available by the Diocese under the auspices of the Family Life Office through the leadership of Jeremy Priest. As you may recall, the Courage apostolate consists of Catholics who experience samesex attractions and who are committed to helping one another to live chaste lives marked by prayer, fellowship and mutual support. The EnCourage apostolate consists of Catholics seeking guidance in understanding and supporting their loved ones who experienced same-sex attractions. Two addresses have been established for the purpose of facilitating information on meeting times and places for each group: Courage: courage@dioceseoftulsa.org EnCourage: encourage@dioceseoftulsa.org If you would like to know more about Courage or Encourage, or would like to familiarize yourself with some of the tools and resources available, you can visit the national Courage website at couragerc.org/ Please join me in praying for this apostolate, that through it those most in need of God s mercy and goodness will know the love of Christ and His Church and will discover in Jesus what it means to be fully human. We are happy to announce that the Go Life van will start parking on the front of our chapel every Tuesday from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm. This will allow us to offer during the evening time free pregnancy tests, limited ultrasounds and life-affirming resources to clients or walk ins from the community. Their first day will be March 29. So, if you have a client interested in this option, please let them know the Go Life team will be here. We are happy about this collaboration, and wish success to Karen Guzman in this initiative. Regocijémonos y alegrémonos porque nuestra salvación ha sido ganada por la muerte y resurrección de Jesús el Cristo, el Hijo de Dios. Que este día sea un día de alegría y acción de gracias. Y durante los próximos ocho días continuemos celebrando este día santo como si fuera un solo día extendido. Hoy es el primer día de la Octava de Pascua y la Iglesia estará llena de alegría Pascual durante esta semana. Y el próximo domingo toda la Iglesia recordará de manera especial la Divina Misericordia de Dios extendida a toda la raza humana. Tendremos una procesión después de la misa de las 12:30 p.m. el próximo domingo 23 de abril para celebrar el Domingo de la Divina Misericordia de una manera especial. Alrededor de la 1:30 p.m. todos se unirán a la procesión con el Santísimo Sacramento y mientras caminamos varias cuadras por el barrio elevaremos nuestras voces en alabanza de nuestro Dios. Los coros españoles, ingleses y latinos ofrecerán el canto y cuando regresemos a la Iglesia toda la congregación se unirá a la adoración del Santísimo Sacramento. La bendición con el Santísimo Sacramento concluirá nuestra celebración. Cada día de esta semana a las 3:00 p.m. oraremos la Novena a la Divina Misericordia y traeremos diferentes grupos de almas para que se sumerjan en la Misericordia infinita de Dios. Únase a nosotros cuando pueda o reza en casa o en el trabajo si no puede unirse a nosotros en la Iglesia. Este próximo viernes habrá una Misa a las 6:00 p.m. seguida de un Concierto de Alabanza y Culto en español. José y Asucena Lara vienen a hablar con nosotros en el Concierto y nos dirigen en alabanza y adoración de Dios. Esperamos que el mayor número posible de personas vienen a la Iglesia para la Misa y el Concierto especial. El tema del Concierto es: "La Pascua ilumina nuestra Vida". El próximo sábado 22 de abril habrá un retiro para los estudiantes de la Primera Comunión que están en el segundo grado. El retiro comenzará con la Misa a las 8:30 am seguido de un ensayo para la Primera Comunión. También habrá primeras

7 confesiones comenzando a las 11:00 a.m. Se espera que todos los niños de Primera Comunión en segundo grado asistan a este retiro. Ahora que la Pascua está aquí habrá muchas celebraciones de bodas, bautizos, quinceaños, aniversarios, primeras comuniones y confirmaciones. La Temporada de Pascua se extenderá hasta la Fiesta de Pentecostés que será en siete semanas. Este es un tiempo alegre, pero también un tiempo de gran actividad. matenganse conmigo si parecía un poco mas a veces!! También, los viernes, ahora que ha transcurrido la Cuaresma, tendremos la Misa de las 8:30 am en inglés y la Misa española a las 7:00 p.m. Pero este viernes 21 de abril es una excepción debido al Concierto. La Misa se ofrecerá primero a las 6:00 p.m. seguido por el Concierto de Alabanza. Espero que la alegría de Pascua impregne su semana entera y levante sus espíritus a Dios en acción de gracias por Su gran Misericordia. Dios los bendiga a cada uno de ustedes durante estos días santos.
