May they be worthy representatives of Christ the Good Shepherd. Surviving Divorce is a 12 week program, beginning Saturday, September 1 st at 10:30am, with DVD presentations and discussion on topics like Getting through Your Anger, Dealing with Depression, Learning to Forgive, Handling Money Wisely, Dealing with Your Family and more. Holy Cross Church and Sts Peter & Paul Church would like to welcome Fr Murphy, a priest who speaks on behalf of a group called Food for the Poor. He will speak at all the Masses this weekend regarding how you can help this worthwhile cause. He will have more information in his homily and brochures to had out after Mass. The Saint Teresa Lay Carmelite Group is once again extending an invitation to all interested persons to come to the next meeting on August 11, Our group meets the 2nd Saturday of each month, in the Library at St. Joseph s Church. We will have open enrollment for the next three months. Our particular Lay Carmelite group was formed in Mendota Illinois about thirty years ago. A person male or female over the age of 18 that is in good standing with the Catholic Church may come to experience a Carmelite meeting, prayer life, and readings that are used to increase our faith and follow in the Carmelite charism. The Lay Carmelite group is categorized as a lay vocation. We are affiliated with the Lay Carmelite Order Province of the Most Pure Heart of Mary located in Darien, Illinois; through our association with this order we can participate in retreats, seminars, talks, and pilgrimages. The Lay Carmelite Center of Darien Illinois is the home office for our Marseilles Carmelite group, it is also home to the Saint Therese of Lisieux Shrine.
