The world is a difficult place for teens, and it has become increasingly hard for parents and educators to help teens discover the truth about their bodies, their sexuality, and their unique call to love. In an age of selfies and egocentrism, YOU cuts through the noise too present an authentic view of the human person. It presents young people with the extraordinary story of their creation as unrepeatable individuals. But the program doesn t stop there. YOU: Life, Love, and the Theology of the Body introduces teens to the truth that life is not, in fact, all about them; it is about going out of themselves to be a sincere gift for others! Beginning on Wednesday, October 10th, following the 6pm Mass, we we will offer an additional CYM meeting that concentrates on the study of the Theology of the Body. This week long camp is filled with fun, praise & worship, and most importantly service to others. Please bring your feathered, furry, hairy or scaly pets in a secure carrier or on a leash. In recognition of this event we are collecting items for the Animal Shelter: old towels, wash cloths, blankets, sheets, collars, leashes, dog/cat shampoo, stainless steel food dishes, etc. You may bring them with you on October 7th. Thank you for participating in this project of caring for our needy animals. Even if you do not have a pet please join us for the celebration. We are located at 520 East Mary Street. 4

Monday, September 24th 6:30 7:45pm in the Parish Center Protecting Our Youth safe environment training Diocesan policy requires that all adult employees and volunteers (18 and older) who minister to or come in contact with the youth of our diocese and parish on a regular basis attend the Safe Environment Awareness Training (also known as VIRTUS). This training includes a background check and signing a Code of Conduct. The next VIRTUS training session scheduled here at St. John the Evangelist is on Tuesday, October 16th at 6:00pm in Room 7 on the school campus.
