All current ministers are highly encouraged to attend so they are aware of the changes and have a deeper understanding of the ministry. It is a beautiful and sacred celebration for the whole family! Our parish has chartered a bus to St. John the Baptist Cathedral in Savannah for the priestly ordination of Deacon Drew Larkin. As many of you remember, Deacon Drew was here at St. John for his Pastoral Year in The cost of a seat on the bus will be $25.00 per person. The bus delivers you right to the cathedral no parking, no hassel! Those riding the bus will be able to attend the reception following Mass and have a leisurely ride back to Valdosta. Availability is on a first-come, first-served basis. For more information on this contact Susan Kramer, DRE, BOOK SUGGESTION In Made for Love, Fr. Michael Schmitz presents the Catholic teaching on same-sex attraction and same-sex "sexual" relations. He begins by giving background information regarding the different worldviews of the human person, the philosophical ideas of nature and purpose, the differences between objective and subjective truth, the principal of non-contradiction, and the fallen human nature that resulted from Original Sin. He then discusses in great detail the nature and ends of human sexuality and the nature of true love, while, in a compassionate and non-judgmental way, explaining the flawed nature of same-sex "sexual" relations. While this book is intended primarily for those who have same-sex attraction and their family and friends, its presentation of the compassionate truth of Catholic teaching on same-sex attraction will be of great benefit to everyone in today's society. 4

SPRING RENEWAL PROJECT Accolades to 5th grade teacher Corey Wolford and her team of workers - 5th grade and 4th grade in the early stages - and all the classes in the final stages - for the renewal of the Stations of the Cross on Justine's Way as you exit the school grounds onto Berkeley Drive. Her vision with the help of Lowndes County Beautification Grant have created an amazing meditative and nature area for the benefit of St. John Students and parish members. Be sure to visit the area, enjoy the peace of the nature area while contemplating the Stations of the Cross, and offer congratulations to Mrs. Wolford and the children and teachers of St. John School for making a difference for our school and church community! 6
