RCIA/Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults: Those interested in learning about becoming a member of the Catholic Faith contact Parish Office, Sponsors for Sacraments of Baptism and Confirmation are required to provide a certificate of eligibility if they are not a member of our Partner Parish. To be a sponsor, you must be Baptized and Confirmed. Any parishioner needing a certificate of eligibility to be a sponsor for another parish is required to personally visit the Pastoral Center to obtain a certificate at our office during business hours. 3 PARTNER PARISH ANNOUNCEMENTS St John & St Joseph Partner Parish Cash Bash will be held this year on January 26, Since Thanksgiving and Christmas are right around the corner, why not take some tickets and see if any of your friends or family members would like to buy some. They also make great Christmas Gifts! If you would like any, please contact the Pastoral Center, Jason Taft, Diane Figg or June Morrocco. Charity Outreach Charity Outreach will be open the following dates: Nov. 27th Dec. 4th Dec. 14th 3:00pm- 5:00pm 3:00pm - 5:00pm 10:30am - 12:30pm Every Sunday at 10:30 Mass in the Part ner Parish, your youngsters have an opportunity to participate in the Children s Liturgy of the Word, where the Sunday s readings are explained to them on their level. It is truly a wonderful experience for them. So, parents, send them to experience the Love of God! Join us on December 2nd for an afternoon of fun! The Youth Group will be showing The Polar Express, along with crafts & snacks from 3:00pm to 6:00pm! Come join us! On December 9th, we will also be having Breakfast with Santa! Each day a gift, scripture and Parish event or prayer request are listed. All gifts, except for Christmas Day, will be used at Charity Outreach. All gifts can be left in the back of each church and will be given to Charity Outreach. Please consider doing this wonderful gift idea to benefit Charity Outreach.

4 Commissioning of Eucharistic Ministers will take place at 8:30am & 10:30am masses on November 18th. Two types of tickets are available: a Sports and Leisure raffle ticket with a chance to win Penguins Tickets, Steeler Tickets or a wine and liquor basket; and a Basket Raffle ticket with a chance to win one of many prizes. A $10 donation is suggested. Come early for best selection News from the Diocese: The annual Diocesan Poverty Relief Fund and Catholic Relief Services collection will be taken Nov The collection will be divided so three-quarters of the contributions will remain in the diocese to support the Poverty Relief Fund and Catholic Charities heating fuel and utilities assistance efforts. The remaining one-quarter of the contributions will go to Catholic Relief Services, the U.S. bishops overseas relief and development agency. Shop for Charity Dec. 3 to benefit Catholic Charities Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Greensburg will host Shop for Charity Dec. 3 from 5-7 p.m. at Prima Diva Boutique, 435 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi. The shop, which features women s and children s clothing, home décor and gifts, will donate 20 percent of the evening s sales to Catholic Charities. Proceeds will help provide heating fuel, utility assistance, food boxes, diapers and baby items to people in need in the diocese. Patricia King Buried Scottdale Cemetery Keep her and her family in your prayers The Holy Gospel The Holy Gospel is not the mere reading of a text; it is the presence of the risen Jesus in the midst of the Church. No sooner is the Gospel announced than the people address Christ directly, saying, Glory to you, Lord. Similarly, after the Gospel, the people address their Lord, saying, Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ. Lighted candles and burning incense, marks of reverence and joy, may accompany the procession with the Book of the Gospels and surround the ambo while it is chanted or read. We listen to the Gospel standing, like a people thrilled to see and hear their King. Before the Gospel, we make a sign of the cross three times: on the forehead, the lips, and the heart, praying that the Word of Christ fill our thoughts, bring praise to our lips, and inflame us with love. The Sunday Gospels roll on a three year cycle: Saint Matthew (Year A), Saint Mark (Year B), and Saint Luke (Year C). Part of the Gospel of Saint John, Jesus discourse on the Bread of Life, is fitted into Year B; the greater part of it is read during Paschaltide. Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life (John 6:68).
