SPECIAL COLLECTION: CAPITAL RESERVE (OCTOBER 2018) Thank you to everyone who donated to the Capital Reserve Fund. Our donations totaled $7, for the month of October. To date we have raised a total of $63, of the $91,000.00, which was taken out of the parish capital reserve in 2017 to pay for the two new HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) units, and have $27, left to replenish. Breakdown of the donations received to replenish the Capital Reserve: Amount Description $18, Annual Eparchial Appeal Surplus $19, Special Collection Envelopes $17, Annual Eparchial Appeal Surplus $ 7, Special Collection Envelopes January to October $63, Total 2017 & 2018 In an effort to keep replenishing our Capital Reserve Fund, we will continue to have the special envelopes remain at the back of the church until the end of December for anyone still wanting to donate this calendar year. (BBESSI) will be conducting a Share the Spirit 50/50 Lottery Draw from October 19, 2018 to December 9, The draw date will be made on Wednesday, December 19, The ticket price will be $ The ticket distribution will be as follows: 50% or $10.00 of each ticket sold will go to the winner of the lottery draw. 25% or $5.00 of each ticket sold will go to a Parish/Mission or designated Eparchial Organization named on each ticket by the ticket purchaser as the Parish/Mission or Eparchial Organization Designation. 25% of $5.00 of each ticket sold will go to BBESSI. This Share the Spirit Lottery will provide the Faithful of the Eparchy an opportunity to participate in a 50/50 Lottery Draw, to support your favorite Ukrainian Catholic Parish/Mission or the designated Eparchial Organization in the Eparchy of Saskatoon, and also to assist BBESSI in promoting the cultural, social, educational and spiritual initiatives, policies, and objectives of the Eparchy of Saskatoon among Ukrainian Catholics in the Province of Saskatchewan. 9 Special Collection Envelope: Redemptorist Solidarity Fund (Nov. 18, 2018) This special annual collection is for the Redemptorist General Government to further the Mission of Redemptorists by providing assistance in emergency situations like natural disasters, for formation and training of students, and for new pastoral initiatives. To contribute, please use the envelope found at the back of the church (with purple print). Please make cheques payable to Saints Peter & Paul Church and all monies collected will be forwarded on. The most common subjects include Christ, Mary, saints and angels. 10 * 2018 UKRAINIAN SCHOLARSHIPS UKRAINIAN CATHOLIC BROTHERHOOD OF CANADA (UCBC) Bishop Roborecki Branch / William & Elsie Hnatiuk Three $ Scholarships are available to youth ages 8-18 (ages as of December 31, 2017) to encourage them to continue participating in Ukrainian Language, Liturgical Activities, Traditions, and Culture. The youth must be a member of one of the three Ukrainian Catholic parishes in Saskatoon and show consistency in leadership qualities. The youth may be nominated, in written form, by any parishioner of the three Ukrainian Catholic parishes, clergy, sisters, UCBC members, staff members of Bishop Filevich Ukrainian Bilingual School or the Ukrainian Program at Bethlehem High School, members of parish organizations, Ukrainian arts groups, and St. Volodymyr Camp Board.
